We got ready for meeting and everything seemed arranged in a way that we wanted. After presenting the project and the proposed platform and solution, the contract finalized, and everything settled in the best way. We were happy and wanted to celebrate our achievement.

Jane said: "I'm happy for our brilliant success. Let's celebrate!"

I replied: 'Great idea. Where should we go to celebrate?'

She thought for a moment and said: "How about Charlotte Café?"

I said instantly: 'Great idea! Let's go there.'

This place has an iconic quote as: "DO SOMETHING GREAT", and I think Jane picked this place because of this notable line. In fact, I love her choice, her delicate points, and methodical reflections.

We enjoyed our celebration at the Charlotte Café. It was amazing to see us delighted in joy and bliss. Also, I thank God for giving us the opportunity to push the boat out in the light of winning the project.

It was around 19:40 when my phone rang. His name on the screen tensed entire my body. Jane said annoyed: "Oh God! It's him, again! What does he want from you, Aurora?"

'He's in a challenging situation. Please don't talk about him like that. He's a kind gentleman. We must help him.'

"Exclude me from your last sentence. You must help him, not me. I'm not interested in knowing him nor helping him."

'Jane! Why do you become a cold and hard-hearted woman towards him? Please change this approach.'

"Oh! Really? Should I change it? I won't change my opinion about him. Because you're in trouble because of him clearly."

'Jane! Please! I want to answer the phone.'

"Don't. When you get home, you can call him. I can't stand hearing you talking to him."

'Oh God! I think you should meet him in person. It might change your mind about him. Now, let me talk to him. It's about the yesterday incident.'

"No. Talk to him when I'm not around you."

'Jane!'

"What?"

'I want to talk to him right now.'

"Don't. Please... Don't ruin our good time."

'Ok. Maybe you're right.'

I didn't answer the phone, and one missed call was the result of this weird conversation with Jane. After two minutes, a notification showed up on the screen. It was a text from him.

"Hello, please call me ASAP."

Jane read the message and said: "You better call him. Seems he's in trouble."

I was worried when I called him.

"Hello!"

'Hello! Are you ok?'

"I'm not. How are you doing?"

'I'm with my friend, Jane. We're going home. What's wrong?'

"I talked to her. She was very angry about everything. She had some ideas about us dating and being in a relationship. She was worried about our daughter. I explained everything. I had to clarify everything. Please don't be mad at me. I had to do it."

'You talked about me? Or just talked about the process?'

"I talked about you, the process, everything. I'm so sorry. She made me break my promise."

'I see... I've a request from you, and I hope you respect it.'

"Sure."

'Please don't call me and don't come to see me anymore. The process faced its final chapter. It's our last call.'

"Aurora! Please... I'm sorry."

'You're sorry for what she made you do. But you're not sorry for not respecting your promise. You could solve the issue by choosing other options. How many times do I have to hear the word sorry from you? How many times do I have to worry about my privacy while you can't keep your promise? This time, I'm sorry for being in this situation to say these things to you. I didn't want to face this side of our journey. But you made me face it.'

"I'm so sorry. Hope you forgive me someday. I understand and respect your request."

'Good. Wish you all the best. Take care.'

"Thanks. Wish you all the best as well. Take care. And please be aware that I'm deeply sorry for what I made you feel during the whole process. I tried my best to keep my promise, but my life wasn't only about me. It was my mistake, and it brought me a storm to sweep me away from your life like a dead leaf. Please accept my apology for all the things that happened. Also, thank you for everything. Good luck."

'Thank you. Good luck.'
It was a short answer to his honest words. In fact, I couldn't say more. Our journey faced its final stage. Now, I'm worried about my privacy and my life more than before.

I looked at Jane troubled. She was looking at me in silence. Then, she asked me:

"How many times do I have to say stay away from him?"

'Well, I guess you don't have to say it anymore.'

"Hope so."

I looked at the dark sky above us. I was confused and my heart was in grief. How was I supposed to know that the journey could end like this. I had a feeling that it was wrong. I didn't know why. But I was sure that this ending was not right.
Suddenly, I heard Jane saying to me: "Now, our good time ended by that kind gentleman! I can't believe it. How could you let him wreck your comfort?"

'Jane, please... I'm not in a situation to talk about it. Can you stay with me tonight?'

She looked at me puzzled. Then, she replied: "I'm kind enough to stay with you tonight. You should value my sacrifices for you!"

I chuckled and said: 'You know that I value your sacrifices and kindness all the time. Don't you know?'

"I know. I was kidding. Now, you become sensitive because you're sad. Come closer. It's cold."

'Yes, it's freezing.'

We walked all the way home. My mind was on pause, and I couldn't think of anything. Thank God that Jane was with me. I could say that we both encountered and felt the fête and dénouement notions tonight. In fact, it was overwhelming for both of us.
