It is a glorious sunny day. The sun was shining, the birds were tweeting, the odd gentle breeze, it was a perfect start to the week. Despite cars regularly passing by in the not too far distance, it was a relaxing atmosphere enclaving the street Luke lives in.
He's working from home today to look after his lovely niece called Bella. She's a 8 year old kid who is in her fourth year of school and is very active in playing around with her friends at home which isn't terribly far a distance from where he lives. She doesn't know much around in Luke's street so he has in recent months installed a swimming pool, installed it into the ground to keep her amused and entertained since she's just got off for summer holidays. Keeps her happy if nothing else.
*knock* *knock* *knock* *knock* *knock* "morning, sunshine." Luke said. He can hear the movement of the sheets as Bella emerges facing upwards, letting out a massive yawn, as she emerges from her sleep.
"morning!" Bella exclaimed as she took another massive yawn. "Did you had a good sleep?" Luke asked as he stood outside her bedroom door. "Oh yes, I did! Crafty Corn had me flying above the clouds last night! It was amazing!" Bella exclaimed with thrill and joy, almost sounding like as if it actually happened.
Luke pretends to play along. He knows himself these dreams aren't real. But he doesn't want to spoil it to her. She's too small to be told about it. "What do you want for breakfast?" Luke asked. "Weetabix, please! Oh! Oh! And toast with jam!" Bella exclaimed with excitement. "Coming right up. Come on down!" Luke added. "Yay!" Bella added and held on to Luke's hand as they slowly walk down the stairs.
"I'll put the TV on, and you can watch some cartoons and have your breakfast at the same time. How does that sound?" Luke asked. "Oh! Awesome! Thank you! My mum and dad doesn't let me eat breakfast and watch TV at the house!" Bella explained. "Well. My treat. Sit yourself up there on the sofa. I'll bring out a table for you to eat you breakfast on. Wouldn't want a mess on the sofa now, would we?" Luke asked.
"Wait! I have to go to the toilet." Bella added. "That's ok. You know where it is. Take your time." Luke added.
