Kanari Alizae BrownIt was now Thursday, Kanari was at work staring at the clock. Due to her smarts, Kanari was offered the opportunity to graduate early. Of course, she accepted. Leaving her with plenty of time to work, and figure out what she wanted to do with her life.
She just wanted to go home so she could see her best friend and Sevyn. He was supposed to come home today around the same time that Kanari got off of work.
Over the past 3 days, Kanari finally was able to get her car. She had been picking up heavy hours at her job, determined to get her car.
Tank was by her side every step of the way, making sure that the salesman didn't try to play Kanari in any type of way.
When she was given the keys, she sat in her car and just cried. She wished her mother was by her side while making such a big accomplishment.
Kanari had to remind herself that Erica was too busy being an asshole.
Tuesday, after Kanari got off the phone with Sevyn, she tried calling her mom. Of course she was hit with an automated voice message.
Knocking herself out of her thoughts, she heard the bell go off, indicating that someone had just walked through the door.
Seeing the figure of a brownskin man with chest length locs, she realized that it was Sevyn. Keeping it professional, she welcomed him how she would with any other customer.
"Welcome in sir, how can—"
"If you clock out right now, I'll pay for yo' day and some mo'." Sevyn said, cutting her off before she could finish greeting him.
" Sevyn stop playin' so much, for real." Kanari's eyes widened at the man right before her.
"On my granny. Iah' up 10 bands right na', you know I got it."
"Ok, up my money first, nigga." She said, shifting all of her weight to one leg.
Reaching in his coat pocket, he pulled out a stack, and placed it in her hands. Every single bill was a Benjamin Franklin.
"You lucky I was ready to leave anyways. Thank you boo." She said, walking off to the back to go clock out.
"Jeff, I'm leaving! It's a family emergency!" She lied, to her manager.
Sevyn smiled a big smile as he watched her walk off to the back. His eyes raked her figure, that was showing through her work uniform.
"So we gone trail each other to the house?" She said, coming from the back with her belongings.
Sevyn nodded, letting Kanari walk out of the door before him. Walking into the parking lot, he spotted her '21 Toyota Camry SE sitting there with a shine to it.
"Nari Alizae got a car now, don't play." She spoke once again, walking up to her new car doing jazz hands.
"You funny as hell shorty. But for real tho', I'm proud of you mama." Wrapping his arm around her neck, pulling her in for a hug.
Those 5 words were music to her ears. She loved hearing people tell her how good she was doing at something. He had just boosted her confidence, pushing her to keep going.
