I somehow ended up in the middle of the Big House councilor meeting room. Technically as the only child of Poseidon in Cabin 3, I was a counselor, and made my own rules to live by. However, since I'd only been at camp a few months before the heroes of the past returned, I'd never gone to a head counselor meeting. Now that I was leading a quest, I had no choice. And according to Percy, this was the first time that the gods were joining in on the meeting.
When I entered the room with Percy and Annabeth, I saw the other former head counselors and the current ones all sitting at the table. I also saw the gods standing behind their children. The Titans stood around the table, spread out, and between a god each.
Hades was standing behind Hazel and Nico, looking fully recovered. Persephone stood by his side, his arm around her waist and her hand over his heart. Her free hand rested on Hazel's shoulder, Hades' on Nico's. They looked like a real family. Bianca diAngelo stood by Thalia and Reyna, as a Huntress before Artemis. She was detached from her family, but it looked like neither side minded much, many years of it numbing the pain that may have come with her estrangement.
Ares and Athena had recovered as well in the 24 hours since their return. Athena stood behind Annabeth and her younger half-sibling, a thirteen year old named Lizzie. Ares stood behind Clarisse, Frank and his son Cameron, the thirteen year old head counselor of the Ares Cabin. Ares had some new scars along his arms, but was otherwise fully recovered. I couldn't see any physical scars along Athena.
Zeus stepped forward, taking control of the meeting quickly. "Now that Ares and Athena have been rescued by Annabella Chain, we have the full force of the Olympians on our side once more. We are hoping this will give us an advantage over the Anomaly, as the full force of Olympus plus the force of half of Othrys should overpower just two deities."
Hyperion huffed. "Should. Our sister has eluded half of Othrys for over half a century. And the Anomaly took down the force of Olympus when you first encountered him."
Zeus scowled. "Thank you for the reminder, Hyperion."
"Just saying. We need more of a plan than hoping we're stronger than them. Or have you forgotten that they have the assistance of the Pit on their side?" The Titan of Light snarled.
Annabeth, Percy and Nico flinched. Everyone's eyes flickered to them then back again to the two arguing deities.
"I have not forgotten-"
"Then why are you gunning on pure strength when we are facing two powerful Titans and a Primordial?"
"The Pit has not faced us directly yet-"
"He could!"
"ENOUGH!" Rhea yelled over them.
Zeus and Hyperion fell silent, glaring at each other.
Rhea rolled her eyes. "Oh, for the love of the Fates, this is ridiculous. We can hardly get along. So instead of arguing, why don't we just discuss like civilized adults?"
She turned to me then, and her warm gaze made me anxious. I got the feeling I knew what she was going to ask.
"Annabella, how much of the prophecy has been completed?" Rhea asked me.
I swallowed. "Daughter of the sea, hurry out west
She is the key for success in this quest
The fate of Olympus upon her must lie
Least Wisdom and War together shall die
God of Riches and Death by her restored
Against the Anomaly, she shall earn her sword."
