I held her in my arms as I watch how beautiful she looks in the morning. I couldn't believe she was in my arms once again. I know it was time for her to get up to get to practice since she missed it yesterday. I left to wake up Tucker to make him some breakfast while she sleeps for a while until it was time for her to wake up.
Tucker was curious of why his mother wasn't awake, so I told him that she will awake in a few minutes. I made him some breakfast while his grandmother was still sleeping herself which is nice. There was no noise in the house for the first time until Carol woke up coming downstairs to get some breakfast hoping that her daughter has taken up to practice. Emily woke up coming downstairs kissing Tucker on his cheek as she wishes him a good morning. Then she wishes me a good morning until her mother walks in.
''Emily, why are you not at the rink practicing?'' She demands his answer as her eyebrow furrow. Emily was not in the mood to deal with her attitude, so she left the kitchen with a bowl of fruits. Carol follows her as she demands an answer for her question, but Emily didn't care because she needed the sleep before she went out to practice.
''This is the reason why you are not an Olympian winner.'' She says.
''YES, YOU REMIND ME EVERY FUCKING DAY!'' Emily was irritated with her mother because every day she reminds of why she shouldn't give birth to her because she is the reason why her career is ruined. She wasn't going to deal with her mother for long because it was time for her mother to leave to find somewhere else to live. Carol refuse to leave because she needed to be here to coach Emily, also be around her grandson.
''Mom, please do all of us a favor and stop pretending that you care about the well-being of Tucker's when you stay to remind me every day of my life that I am a failure.'' It was time for Carol to hear the truth because Emily's life not only revolves around herself anymore, but Tucker's. Carol knew she has been overbearing, but when she hears from her daughter this shows her that she should have been supporting her rather than torturing her about practicing being the best. Carol couldn't deal with Emily, so she left to handle some other business while Emily goes back into her room getting herself prepared to go to the rink.
I took her to the rink as she got out of the car where she didn't say anything to us. I went to park the car, so Tucker and I can go inside to watch mommy skate her whole heart on the ice. Tucker can tell something was wrong because his mother is usually all giddy with him before she gets out of the car. He gave her some space because he knows his mother have been dealing with bipolar depression. Sometimes he sees that grandma was the main reason why his mom acts differently some moments of the day. When we got inside of the rink, we saw Carol walking inside where the skater goes to skate.
''Emily!'' She calls out her name while Emily ignores her as she continues to skate. Then Carol goes on the ice to bother Emily as she grabs her telling her that it was her fault skating was taken away from her. ''Mom, I think you are not well.'' Emily seems scared. Carol begins shouting as Emily demands for her to let her go. Carol begins shaking Emily as she shouts, so I had to rush myself to save Emily from Carol. I took Carol away from Emily as I had them on two sides of my body. Carol was reaching over to Emily, so she can harm Emily. Emily can tell that she mixes her prescription with alcohol.
Emily ran away from me and her mother as she went back into the locker room. Her competition saw that her mother was out of control, so she begins mocking her having a crazy mother. ''Fuck you.'' Emily says.
''Bipolar much.'' She knew that Emily suffers with bipolar depression because once upon a time they used to be best friends. She knew the highs and lows of her life with her mother until she realizes she rather have Emily as an enemy. Emily didn't want to deal with her mother, so she took an uber going somewhere to escape the feeling of being pressured. I couldn't find her, so I took Tucker home where he was sitting in front of the television watching a cartoon movie. I sat next to him as he calls me dad for the first time. They call 911 to help Carol out because she was injuring herself all because Emily is not living up to the expectations of skating. I see why Emily struggle with the highs and lows of her mother, especially with her battling with her own. She is trying hard to be nothing like her mother sometimes her mother sets her back to the point of her losing her mind.
Few hours later... Emily came back to the house where she sees us sleeping on the couch watching a cartoon movie. She shuts off the television and puts a big blanket over us as she kisses each of us on the forehead. She went to bed hoping that her son didn't see his grandmother acting like that in front of the people at the rink. I woke up in the middle of the night to check up on her where I see her struggling to sleep herself.
''Emily.'' I whispered. She turns her head towards the door seeing me walk into her room. ''please come in.'' She begs. I close the door, then climb on her bed as she adjusts her body posture to hug me. She gives me a kiss on my lips as she talks about her mother causing her pain. ''I'm here for you.'' I said.
''Tristian.'' As she says my name, she causes a shiver to run down my throat down to my spine.
''Yes.'' I gulped while I wait for her response until, she mentions that she couldn't do these things without me being here. She thought her manger was punishing her until she realizes she brought her a saint. I knew this was the time to let her know that I found out that Tucker is my son, and I was willing to take the responsibility because I grew to love him and his mother. I knew she been through a lot for today, so I kept my mouth shut.
