Husk and Angel were at a local library today. Believe it or not, Husk actually did enjoy reading from time to time. He decided to bring Angel along with him, not wanting to leave him alone while little. Vaggie and Charlie were on a date, and Alastor was at an overlord meeting. And Niffty.. He didn't even wanna think about leaving Angel home alone with her while he's not big.
He honestly didn't mind bringing Angel with him either way, he just genuinely enjoyed having him around. He's been stuck to the cat like glue all day anyways, so why not?
As Husk was searching for a book to check out, Angel perks up with excitement, letting go of Husks hand, his stuffed cat in his right. He heard the kids in the children section singing 'Itsy Bitsy Spider', and got immediately distracted. He suddenly just wanted to go play with them. His pacifier fell out of his mouth, and Husk somehow didn't feel Angel's hand slip away for a moment until he tried talking to him.
"Alright lil one, you ready?" He turned to look at Angel, noticing he was no longer there. He started to slightly panic for a sec, how could he not have noticed him leave? His ears drooped down, looking around frantically for the little spider.
"Lil one, where are ya?.." He tried to call out for him. Angel was busy watching the kids play together while listening to the tune from the door, eyes fully locked on them.
Husk was desperatly looking around the library for him, feeling like a total dumbass for not noticing him leave sooner. Angel eventually heard the desperate calls of worry after a few minutes and snapped out of his trance. He was standing outside the kids section, desperate to go in. He felt frozen in place, he just wanted to walk in there.
The thing with Angel is if he was big right now, he would've had no problem going in there. But when he's little, he gets anxiety when it comes to certain things like this. New people scared the poor thing.
He turned his head and ran to Husk as soon as he saw him in his eyesight. He started tugging on his arm with puppy eyes, startling Husk for a second. "Ah shoot, there ya are Angie!. I thought I lost ya.." He hugged him close, his worry fading slightly, but refusing to let the jumping spider out of his grip.
"Papa Huskyyy, I wanna gwo in thwere!" He begged the big cat, pacifier no longer in his mouth and hanging around his neck like a necklace. "Hm?.." Husk tilted his head confused for a moment, before looking up to where Angel had started pointing.
"Ah.. Ya wanna go in the kids section, don't ya?." Angel nodded in a silent plea, hoping Husk would agree to going in there with him. And to his delight, he did. Husker was hesitant at first, scared he'd lose him again somehow. But, how could he say no to a cute little face like that? Besides, it was kind of his fault for not noticing Angel was gone in the first place. He was too distracted with the book he had in hand to notice.
"Alright hun, but only for a little bit, ok?. Papa had some stuff he wanted to get done today.." Husk smiled at him. In response, Angel nodded satisfied with the answer he was given.
He held his papas hand tight, dragging him to the children's room. 'This kid is gonna be the death of me..' Husk thought to himself, smiling gently.
He allowed his little spider to drag him into the space full of kids. He watched Angel go run off with a few other children as he sat in a corner to read the book he picked up. Once in a while peaking up to watch Angel, not letting him out of his sight this time.
He did not want another situation where he accidentally lost the little spider again. Yep, he'd definitely need a drink after That incident..
