"Thank you. I'll see you tomorrow!" Rody rushed giving Vince his jacket back as he got into his apartment and closed the door in Vince's face, quickly putting all the locks in place and sinking down to the floor beside the door.
"See you..." Vince muttered, confused.
Rody covered his mouth with his hand to muffle his breathing, starting to hyper ventilate as he stared at Vince's still shadow under the gap in the door.
He dared not move while Vince was still outside and in ear shot because of the thin walls and doors.
Eventually, Vince's foot steps receded and Rody began to spill tears, he pulled out the blood soaked ribbon from his pocket and held it to his heart.
"Manon..." Rody choked out, barely managing to let her name leave his throat.
He dropped sideways onto the floor, curling up as he cried, tears staining the wooden floorboards beneath him.
After an hour or so, the tears stopped and he stood up, placing the piece of ribbon beside the telephone on his coffee table and sitting down on the worn couch.
Rody thought about everything, the secrecy with the key and the freezer, the strange noises that came from it, how Vincent was acting weirder than usual.
He had to investigate, he knew he had to, deciding he would start the next day.
Meanwhile Vince was barely stepping outside of Rody's apartment complex, jacket draped over his left arm as he walked down the quiet streets.
As Vince got closer to his own apartment above La Gueule de Saturne, he couldn't help but look into the window of the restaurant with keen and observing eyes. He had recently begun to notice Rody was acting off, all the questions made him paranoid and he couldn't have Rody finding out about certain things.
Vince took out his keys and opened the restaurant door, walking straight to his office where he looked into a locked drawer on his desk.
He pulled out a plastic suit that he slipped on over his clothes as well as a pair of gloves.
Vincent walked to the freezer door and opened it, going to the back where the meat hangers and saw were. He looked under the saw counter and opened the cabinet, pulling out a bucket that contained all of Manon's non-eatable parts and clothes.
The bucket was hoisted up and placed on the table before he turned and went to the meat grinder, cleaning up the meat around it and throwing it into the bucket as well. He needed to get the meat inside of it out and decided to push through some raw beef to force it out.
Vincent flicked the grinder on with a buzz and began to push the meat into it until something got caught.
"Fuck" He cursed, he unplugged the machine and stuck his hand inside, feeling around for whatever was stuck.
His fingers caught a hard metal and pulled it out, tearing his glove and cutting into his finger with the blades, making him pull his hand back in pain and the necklace drop to the ground.
"Ugh, that stupid girl isn't worth all of this" he seethed, taking the rest of the meat and putting it into the bucket before going to pick up the bloodstained necklace.
Vince picked it up by the chain, noticing it was a locket. He took a glance at the pictures since it was open, he caught a glimpse of a familiar face and wiped away the blood with his thumb.
"Rody" He whispered, seeing the small picture of Rody on one side of the locket. He hummed and turned on the saw, being careful as he cut the locket in half, placing Manon's picture and chain in the bucket before washing off Rody's picture and leaving it on the counter.
