Rody didn't know how he got there but he was now sitting on the floor of Vince's bathroom, staring into onyx eyes and furrowed eyebrows with no movement.

A sting brought him back to reality as burning alcohol came into contact with raw flesh caused by his anxiety, having made him peel off the skin around his nails.

“Don't.” Vince muttered, grabbing Rody's wrist so he couldn't flinch away as he dabbed the cotton ball soaked with alcohol around his fingers. “I turned to put the books back in place for just a minute and when I turned you had blood all over your fingers… you can't do that to yourself, Rody”

The words seemed to only pass through Rody's ears briefly, not registering the words as he simply stared.

“Are you listening?” Vince sighed, patching up Rody's fingertips so he wouldn't pick at the wounds as they healed.

Vince cleaned everything up before sitting in front of Rody once more. “You're not leaving today, you should understand why”

Silence followed as Rody's eyes stilled on his again, gaze cloudy.

“You don't want me to help you at the restaurant today?” Rody finally asked, voice quiet and broken.

AUTHORS NOTE:
Hello, my children. I'd like to ask your opinion… would you prefer I give you a small break from the angst and continue this as a happy filler episode which will serve for their relationship to get closer or should I jump into the next train wreck of Rody's emotions? (Depending which one is chosen might affect the outcome and course of the story)

Sincerely,
Father.
