Sam exhales as they drive away from the hospital.

"We have to stop at Amber's." Tara said, breaking the silence in the car.

"You can call her once we're out of town--" Sam said without turning to look at her.

"It's not that. I have things at her house--" Tara said but was cut off by Sam.

"We'll buy you new things, Tara--" Sam said.

"Dad's necklace." Tara said before Sam could say more.

Sam closes her eyes, lightly slamming her head into the headrest. "Five minutes, in and out."

"Wait, what?" Richie asked.

"What's the address?" Sam asked.

"123 No Fucking Way Lane!" Richie exclaimed, glancing at Sam with the corner of his eyes.

"It's important." Sam said to Richie, turning to him.

"So is not getting killed! It's really right up there!" Richie exclaimed as Sam gives him a look and he slumps, reluctantly taping on his console's GPS. "What's the address?"

A big sprawling two-story Northern California in the wilderness. Cars parked on the lawn. Night has fallen. A high school rager in full-swing.

Amber wades through a crowd of high schoolers congesting her home. Weed is smoked. Beer is bonged. But Amber looks stressed and swings into the kitchen.

Where a makeshift banner hangs that says For Wes. Chad is raising a shot glass with a group of jocks.

"To Wes!" Chad exclaimed, the others shouting the same thing.

"Shots? Really? This is supposed to be a memorial." Amber said, noticing Chad looking towards the door and when she looked behind her she saw Romeo walking in.

"This is how I mourn. And distract myself from the looming spectre of Death." Chad said, catching Romeo's eyes before the brunette looks away from him.

"Come on. Nothing's going to happen here." Amber said, looking away from Romeo who walks upstairs.

"The Sheriff got murdered outside her own house." Chad said, and repeated it again when the beat got louder. Chad pours and takes another shot.

Amber moved into the living room to find Mindy sitting watching the TV. Amber makes a face. "Why are you watching this?"

"It calms me down." Mindy said.

"Have you seen Chad?" Liv asked.

"He's in the kitchen getting right with his God." Amber said.

"Again?" Liv said, going to find him, exasperated.

"We're low on beer." Mindy said.

"There's more in the basement. I'll get it." Amber said, moving to the door to the basement as Mindy eyes her.

Amber stands at the top of the basement stairs. Darkness below. She flicks the light switch. Nothing. Flips it up and down. Bulb must be out.
