You always wonder why pretty flowers have thorns. Well I think it has to deal with the fact of a familiar quote "Never judge a book by its cover." In that quote it says to never judge someone based on how they look. They could be an unattractive person with a great personality or a really attractive person with an ugly personality; or they could be an unattractive person with a ugly personality/ a person that is attractive with a great personality.
You simply can not judge looks with personality. And with pretty flowers the reason why they have thorns is to protect themselves from anything that can bleed. They have several thorns; several walls to protect them from dangerous creatures that roam around them threatening to do anything to them. With just a prick they can make a grown man cry with blood dripping from his fingertips to his hands while throwing the pretty flower on the ground cursing at it before running away.
