015. Intensity of Emotions
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Just a few days had gone by and Klaus' condition was getting worse by the minute. He hadn't spoken a word of the nightmares he was having. He had not mentioned the fear that slowly, bit-by-bit ate him away.

The voices pushed him closer and closer to paranoia and fear of his family staring down at his with disgust.

In the middle of the night, Klaus jolted up from the bed, choking on the panting that was about to start, as his sibling slept in the same tent as him.

He got up and rushed out of the tent. He started breathing the fresh air, releasing his heavy breathes, and the feeling of heaviness and tightness in his chest.

Even after some time, his breathing didn't go back to normal. On the contrary, his heart started to race slowly, struggling to get the air. His eyesight blurred, getting a flash of his family before him. Rebekah crying miserably before him. He wanted to tell her that it was going to be okay— but he couldn't speak, nothing came out of his throat. He wanted to reach out his hand and hold her in a comforting embrace— but his hands didn't move, it was like he was paralyzed...

He wanted to comfort her— but he couldn't.

"What a failure of a brother you are," Alexander's voice taunted him, his voice laced with smugness.

He fell to his limps, his mouth open, trying to suck in air, but nothing was working. Tear welled up in his eyes. Fear of death trickled in.

He could hear a familiar voice, calling out to him. "Klaus?! Oh my goodness!" Lilith, who was walking around aimlessly at night time, came across Klaus on her way to her tent.

She took him into her arms, flipping him over, laying his head down on her lap. She frowned seeing his pale complexion and struggle to breathe. She touched his forehead, and closed her eyes. Her frown deepened, seeing what was playing in his head.

She opened her eyes, holding him in a close embrace. "You are okay," She whispered in his ear gently. "You are going to be fine. Your family loves you. Rebekah doesn't blame you. She is just sad, not miserable. She understand why you did what you did."

Lilith carefully watched as his hyperventilation slowly started to fade with her words. So she continued on.

"If you didn't kill him, Rebekah would be the one on the floor, dead, pale, bleeding to death. You saved her. You did. You saved her. You saved your family..." She caressed his head, "Your family loves you... You are a good man, Klaus."

His breathing went back to normal in her caring embrace. Letting out a relived breath, he fainted due to the exhaustion.

She held him up, taking him to her tent and laying him down on her bed. She sat in the corner of the room, watching his chest rise and fall with each steady breath.  She brought her knees to her chest, hugging them and laying her head sideways on her knees, keeping a watch on him.

She could't help but wonder how it would be like to feel such intense emotions. Scary perhaps, if it was the kind the Klaus went through just some time ago. But what if it was a good kind of intensity. 'How would it feel?'

This wasn't the first time she looked inside someone's head. She did it before many times. It began as a mistake, when she touched Lucifer one day, when he was very sad and crying. That was the first time she saw him like that.

The eleven year old Lilith walked up to him when he fell asleep while crying. She didn't want to stop him from letting his heart pour out. She held his shoulder and got glimpses of Lucifer laughing and smiling with Lillian. She smiled seeing it, but her smile dropped as another scene took place. The scene of Lucifer crying and holding Lillian's dead body close to his chest. Young Lilith's face when pale at the sight.

Tears rolled down her temple, as she blinked and looked over at Klaus.

Klaus groaned, stirring in the bed. Fluttering his eyes open, he looked around the unfamiliar room. He found a diamond shelled like egg. It was lustrous even without any light in the room.

He carefully approached it. Just as he was reaching his hand out for it, A hand grabbed him by the wrist. He looked to the side and saw Axel.

Axel glanced down at the shelled like egg with worrisome eyes, which was the first possible emotion Klaus had ever seen on his emotionless face.

Axel bent down and placing a hand on it. "Not a word of this to anyone," He looked at Klaus, "Understood?"

Klaus' eyes looked up from the egg to Axel, he began slowly with a questioning tone, "Lilith..."

"Yes, this is Lilith." Axel stepped closer to Klaus. Both of their faces inches apart as they made eyes contact, both glaring at one another, although Klaus couldn't exactly understand where Axel's hostility was coming from. "Now, I do not know what happened last night, or what you did you her. But heed my warning and stay away from her. Keep your family away from her while you are at it."

"What if I don't?" Klaus challenged him with a smirk. "What are you going to do about it?"

Axel inched closer, clenching his jaws. "I can kill you."

"I would kill you to have a try at it."

Axel reached for his dagger, but stiffened with wide eyes. Klaus looked at him confused, before Axel rushed out of the tent, saying, "Stay here, don't come out or make any sound."
