🌙
When I took over my mother's business four years ago, I was shit scared. I didn't know anything. Every time I sat in a meeting I realised how privileged I was to be Firdaus Khan's daughter because I would never get this chance otherwise.
I was lost until I found him. Surely I helped him. I was too lenient with him because I gave him six months to prove himself while he did that in two. He proved to be the most hardworking employee I had. I never found anyone else like him. Because I didn't look. I wanted him, if only he wanted me back.
He left and I had to do everything on my own. I found a new assistant, she is sweet, nice, does the job. And I am sweet and nice to them all. My mother helped me take over the work. She told me how to be commanding and strong willed.
"I hope everyone is aware of the upcoming political situation and we have to get the best covers. I do not want any other media channel getting an up on us. Is that clear?" I address the whole floor, and they all chorus a 'yes'. I'm a boss, I'm straight up but atleast I'm not a bitch.
"YOU DUPLICITOUS BITCH!"
The eyes turn, the files fall, some mouths gape and some heads raise up. Oh to watch drama for free in the office. I stare at the man next to the elevator who seethes like a bull. It's not even that big of a deal. People need to chill.
I roll my eyes, turn around and walk into my office, obviously being followed by the six feet something dude. I turn back to him, sighing in the contemplation of my life and his. "Yes, how can I help you?"
"What the fuck is wrong with you?!"
"Scream less, I have low tolerance for bullshit, my mother raised me that way."
"Yes, I'm aware because we have the same mother you idiot." At least he didn't scream this time, that's gonna count for something.
"What is your problem, Faisal?"
"You are! Why the fuck are you marrying the weirdest dude to exist on the planet over Karan?!" Karan left me nearly four years ago, and my stupid mother, stupider father and stupidest brother still think that he is my soulmate. Well if he was, he wouldn't have left, and even if he did that, he had many years to come back.
