𝐀𝐃𝐎𝐍𝐈𝐒 𝐒𝐀𝐓 by himself, his arms propping him up, his heavy breathing the only noise that sounded through the field facility
It was well past 1 in the morning, and he was exhausted from the nonstop training Ego had put the team through. Still, he came and practiced, only a few balls, just practicing shots.
It was his own way of checking his progress, some shots were harder for him than they had been previously, and he hated that.
He'd made a the bold claim of being able to score from anywhere, multiple times. And it was because he was able to, or atleast he used to. So he wanted to know if he still could or not.
Time off would dull anyone's blade, and there were so many factors that went into scoring, so many unpredictable outcomes.
The angles, the power, the distance, would defenders try to cut his path off? What about vollies?
He could control those outcomes, if he were to be perfect.
Adonis soon stood up once again, against his own will. He fought away his drowsiness, setting another ball up.
He stood shirtless at the midfield line, his many scars of varying sizes and shapes on display, his hands on his hips, strands of his dark hair falling into his eyes.
The ball sat beneath his foot, air filling his lungs as he takes a deep breath, winding up and striking the ball.
He watched it fly through the air, the ball sniping the top right corner amd crashing into the net.
A small smile of satisfaction found it's way to his face, making a mental note that his accuracy hadn't diminished.
The smile however, dissapears almost as quickly as it had came. Adonis's head snapping to the side upon hearing the door creak.
"Who's there." He spoke loudly, letting whoever it was know he knew they were there.
The door creaks open some more, the person behind it slowly stepping out to reveal themself.
"Kunigami...?" He said, a hint of confusion found in his words. "I thought you were asleep."
"I was, but I couldn't sleep anymore. I'm too nervous about tomorrow."
The game with Team V, the top team in their stratum. Adonis had nearly forgot about it honestly.
"oh." Was all he said in response, turning back around and lining another ball up.
"You aren't?" Kunigami asked, watching the man closely.
"Why would I be?"
Kunigami paused for a second, looking at Akito with pure confusion at his lack of worry.
"Well, I mean—The thought of your dream ending is really terrifying, right?" Kunigami said. "I heard Igaguri say that to Isagi, it kinda shook me," He admittedly said.
Adonis takes a step back from the ball, taking a plant step and shooting the ball from midfield, watching it zip through the air like before, this time scoring in the top left corner.
"Do you expect me to care?"
Adonis' words caught Kunigami by suprise, not expecting the man to respond like that.
"Well... I mean, we're all here to become the best.. and if we don't win tomorrow, we go home. We'll never get to represent Japan."
Adonis shot another ball, a heavy sigh leaving his mouth while he listens to Kunigami ramble on.
"Representing this shitty country?" He replies, laughing at Kunigami's statement. "I'll pass."
