The Same Enemies

Chapter 1

(Mention of assault)

Marinette POV:

I never thought that everyone would turn on me so fast. One lousy Photoshop job and I was out. I was pushed, shoved, hit, punched and yelled at. The only way I can avoid it was by avoiding them. Lila showed them some random edited photo of me hitting her followed along with an audio of me that was taken completely out of context. I was playing a video game and she managed to record a clip of me saying "I will make your life a living hell" pieced with me also saying"No one will believe you" I was talking to Chloe because she jokingly said that she'll tell everyone that she won the game we were playing when she didn't. We were laughing and having fun. Chloe had changed her ways and she was being nice and trying to be a better person. She managed to get a bunch of other clips of me and Chloe talking and manage to stream together something like this. "I will make your life a living hell no one will believe you. Because I'm friends with everyone, and they won't believe a liar." Followed with Lila editing her crying. That last part I was talking to Chloe again and we weren't even talking about her which is depressing because everyone immediately sided with her.

I wrote in my diary. It is the only way I'm able to process everything going on around me. Sitting on my bed I look over to Tikki.

"Why won't they believe me?" I asked her like I asked her everyday. Everyday after school the same question.

"I don't know Marinette, but that evidence was convincing from a distance but looking closely at it is clearly fake and it's stupid that none of them can see it." She replies, munching on a cookie she's had all afternoon.

It was hard. My only friends being Chloe and Luca. Kagami wasn't allowed to hang out with me because of her mother, otherwise she'd probably be my friend too. I think I still consider her a friend even though we haven't talked since everything went down a year ago. For a while it didn't bother me when I was Ladybug but then Cat stopped showing up. And all I could think was Hawkmoth got him somehow, but that wasn't the truth. He still had his miraculous and stopped showing up. I know because he assaulted me as Marinette.

Flashback 3 months ago

Third person pov

Marinette sat at her desk writing in her diary about what happened at school that day. A sudden crash on her balcony startles her. She looks up to the balcony window but doesn't see anyone. Claiming up onto her bed and slowly peeking through the window there was Cat Noir standing there looking up at the moon.

"Chaton?" Marinette whispered. She was confused she hadn't seen him in months. Turning he looks at her offering her hand up on the balcony. She accepts it, still wondering why he hasn't been helping her as Ladybug.

"Chaton? Why haven't you been helping ladybug everyone thought you were cap-" a slap hits her across the face causing her to stumble back onto the ground looking up at the figure who still hadn't said a word with tears in her eyes.

"What is wrong with you? I mean are you so selfish that you are hurting people? I thought you were my friend Marinette. To hear that you are assaulting some poor girl who has done nothing to you is ridiculous!" Cat yells. Marinette had never seen him so mad. Reaching up and touching her face she feels warm liquid streaming down her cheek.

"W-w-what? What are you talking about?" Marinette asks through tears, her face burning with pain. Cat Noir doesn't answer, just stares at her. Then moves towards her and grips her by the neck pulling her up. In an instant her hands shoot to her she's being held gasping for air.

"C-c-cat-" she chokes. Trying to pull out of his grasp, causing him to slam her up against the wall.

"That Lila girl from the Ladyblog. I got to meet her personally and she told me all about you. How you hurt her and bully her." He screams, tightening his grip. Marinette continues to grasp for air suddenly not even being able to keep her eyes open.

"P-please- I c-can't br-breathe." She chokes. Finally he loosens his grip a little, making her take a deep breath of air. Gasping and then trying to steady her breath again. "I don't know what you're talking about, she's the one that hurts me."

Cat noir slams her head back into the wall. "Don't fucking lie to me bitch. She showed me the photos and the audio. You're a terrible person. If I ever hear you did something like that again I will personally make it my job to get rid of you." And with that for a third time he slams her head into the wall before releasing her and jumping away. Marinette falls to the ground after he releases her gasping for air and looks up and sees him leaving.

"What the fuck?" She asks herself panting.

End of flashback

Marinette looks in the mirror studying the small scar right under her right eye. You couldn't really see unless you were looking. Even then she put makeup on it to cover it. When Cat Noir showed up and did what he did she was shocked and heartbroken. The one person who she never thought would turn on her turned. She knew that she'd have to remove the miraculous from Cat. It was only a matter of time. The only problem was she was never able to find him and she didn't know his identity. It would be hard to catch him off guard but with only one miraculous it seemed  impossible.

*Knock knock*

Small tap came from her skylight. Shit. Could Cat Noir be back? She stood frozen until it opened and Argos peaked inside.

"Marinette perfect you're here." He says landing on her bed then jumping down to her. She stands in shock looking at the traitor.

"Felix? What are you doing here? What do you want?" Marinette says panicked, stepping back.

"Look I know you have no reason to trust me after the stunt I pulled. But please just listen to me." He says pulling the backpack off his back. He sinks to the ground. Marinette looks at him terrified not knowing what could possibly be in the bag.

"Wha-what do you want from me?" She stands frozen looking at him. He looks up at her before unzipping the bag.

"Marinette, I brought them back." She looks in the bag and gasp.
