After bidding his departure to his ally, Taehyung made his way towards his car.
The alpha's lips might've twitched a little when he glanced at his phone, Jungkook called him two times since he left home, it's endearing to say. Sigh, the same thumping in his heart and the stinging behind his eyes. The feeling of powerlessness and insufficiency were constant, and being reminded of that he maybe do not deserve this kindness, these small heartfelt gestures and care. Maybe he doesn't deserve Jungkook at all. It happened in the span of just three months. Being with the omega became a constant reminder of that whatever they all did to him was wrong, was too much and so cruel. And Taehyung couldn't help but feel like a worst man alive whenever he's in the presence of younger.
The Jungkook living in his home right now isn't the same Jungkook his grandmother, Jeonghan and his parents portrayed him to be and the Jungkook, who told him that he should stay in his limits while glaring him in the eye. He realised that after sharing his room and roof with him. This Jungkook is so different, this Jungkook doesn't even look him in the eye.
This Jungkook is broken.
Or maybe the incident of Jeonghan's death changed him?
Taehyung stopped at the red light and took long inhale. The alpha looked at himself in the rearview mirror, noticing his eyes shimmering crimson again. It's so strange to him that it just happened in some days.
However, he's aware of the fact that he has hurt Jungkook, and the pain inflected on the omega isn't going to vanish away just like that. He has to work hard for it, so while consumed in his whirlpool of thoughts, he remembers that he had promised his husband that he would be there with him and they will have their dinner together.
Speaking of dinner, a small smile occurred over his lips, but his eyebrows instantly furrows. Since their marriage Jungkook only steps out of the house for his university. The last time he went out with his mother . . . the guilt again pierces his bones but he tries not to dwell on it. Taehyung shakes his head before opening his phone, tapping his thumbs occasionally to type a small message for the omega that he should be ready within fifteen minutes and they will eat outside tonight. He clicks his tongue and was about to press the send option.
The traffic light turned green, he prepared to continue driving to the house, while placing his phone over the passenger seat, however, as soon as the car moved, another vehicle ran from the other side of the red light signal and collided into the side of his black mercedes with a loud bang. The glass shattered and he felt it cutting the side of his cheek. Taehyung even hadn't put on his seatbelt which was very unusual for him.
Due to the brutal hit. The alpha was thrown forward, so abruptly and violently, that the last thing he felt was piercing pain as he hit his head on the glass, hearing the noise as it broke and cut him, he remembers a silent scream erupting from his throat when he felt a hard crack in his right arm. Taehyung breathes heavily, his heart and body numbed as his bloodied eyes fell on the lit screen of his phone, the device also had numerous droplets of crimson over it's screen and the message was still unsent.
