You've probably heard of that phrase;

You reap what you sow.

That you will eventually have to face up to the consequences of your actions. Good or bad. Right or wrong.

That's what Chaewon thought when she slides under the blankets in an empty room and closes her eyes, throwing an arm across her face, as if hiding from the world.

Sleep never comes easy to her.

Too many thoughts clouding in mind, too many nightmares awaiting to claw at the beta girl in the dark. She doesn't remember the last time she slipped into a peaceful slumber, or the last time she didn't have to sleep with one eye open. It's been too long. Days, weeks, months.

It's same, every freaking time. It's always same.

The girl tries to even her harsh breath, focusing on the way her heart beats wildly in her chest, letting the sounds of the outside world become white noise as she falls, little by little, into the arms of hollowness once again. Darkness engulfs her and she's lost into a world which should be made of dreams, a world where she should be free and should be in peace. But all that welcomes her are images of blood, of cries, of Jeonghan of of . . . Jungkook.

Last time she had seen him when the omega came here to sign that affidavit.

But since then, the feeling doesn't go away. His eyes, Chaewon remember Jungkook looking at her for a mere second before he was pulled away with his husband.

And then, everything crumbled down. Everything destroyed. Everything just ended.

It all happened when she got married to this alpha back in her home town. The man was everything she could've asked for. An ideal gentleman. Deep down she used to think that how . . . how could someone like her is deserving of such a partner? The fear was always there — of Junseo learning anything about her which would make him hate her but the man was literally an angel sent from heaven. And Chaewon knew that the alpha used to sense her distress, her guilt filled eyes, her fear of sleeping alone in the nights, so he tries to cover them up as best as he can, holding the girl in her arms and always assuring her.

It was good anyways, she didn't wanted Junseo to worry about her, or for him to ask questions she's not ready to answer yet.

And, thankfully, the alpha didn't. He just stayed there, close to her but far enough to not suffocate Chaewon with his presence. He was like that someone the beta girl could lean on, if she wanted to. That was the everything she needed to be honest, knowing that she's not alone, that she can talk if she wants, that she can scream and cry if she wants, even though she knows she won't.

It was like Junseo understands her and can read between her lines. Because he never pushed or forced her to speak her fears, he doesn't pry, he just waited for her to say something, giving her the time she needs to calm down and reign in her emotions.
