Prologue

Setting: After the Last Battle, and all four Pevensie children are living in Cair Paravel, Narnia

"Who was he?"

Tapping my finger against the the mahogany table didn't seem to send the right message. I was being asked yet again by my sister about my less than perfect love life. The annoyance I felt about this question was not easily hidden. My brow furrowed in irritation as she began tapping along the table with me.

"Susan, I don't want to talk about it." I replied, dryly.

This was the fourteenth time she'd asked since we even came back to Narnia forever. The Last Battle determined everything, and after the victory, New Narnia rose. There was no hunger or pain or sickness, everyone found the loves of their lives and had children. Aslan explained we would live our lives as we wished and it would be our heaven. What he didn't count on was that our heaven was together as a family.

"Come on Lucy!" Susan stamped her foot on the ground.

"Don't you want a family!" she ranted.

"I have a family." I objected, feebly.

"I mean a husband and children of your own."she replied.

"Well..yeah..." I mumbled.

"Then don't be so anti-love." Susan said, tartly.

I gasped and rose to my feet, but Susan turned and left before I could do anything.

Susan always did this! Whenever I met a nice guy, she'd turn it into marriage somehow! I just hadn't met the one! Couldn't she understand! If I was going to meet my true love, I'd do it on my own time.

A sigh escaped me, before I walked up to my chambers.

My chambers were made up of three rooms; my bed chamber, bathroom, and sitting room. My bed chambers was where I usually went after quarrel with Susan. She was the bet person to comfort me and drive me crazy.

My thoughts broke, as a knock came at my door. I hopped off the bed I'd so recently adjusted my body to, and walked into the sitting room. I opened the door, and it was my maid.

"Hello Cristina." I grinned, before walking over to my small couch located in the sitting room.

Cristina was an elf, and she loved me like a best friend. We had always had each other's backs. She wasn't even like a made to me, just a best friend.

"I brought some evening gowns for you to try." she said in her soft voice.

"For what?" I asked, my voice shill with confusion.

"Susan is throwing a ball for you, in about a week." Cristina replied, as she walked into my bed chambers.

I quickly followed her, with an eager desire to punch Susan in the face.

"I can't go." I scowled.

"Why not, Lucy?" came Cristina's innocent reply.

"Susan is only throwing me that ball so I can find husband..."

"Oh Lucy...I'm sorry I didn't know."

I didn't answer.

"But maybe...it wouldn't be ...so bad.." Cristina stammered.

I stomped on the ground in irritation, "I can't go through with it! Cristina I just can't! Not again..."

My stomach instantly ached and I crumbled to the ground in frustration. No one could let this whole marriage thing go... They just want me married so I don't embarrass my family. Everyone is married, even Edmund has some elf girlfriend. Couldn't they understand I just hadn't met the ONE. The ONE you read about in story books, the ONE that saves you and sweeps you off your feet. When they kiss you, you can feel it all the way to your feet. You can imagine yourself with them forever and ever...

"Lucy..." Cristina broke my thoughts.

"Of course, you don't want your family to run your life forever...but they just want you to find the man you want to spend forever with. You know Aslan doesn't allow divorce in New Narnia. They just don't want you to make any mistakes, thy have good intentions..."

Gradually, I sighed, then after a minute I gave in once again.

"Lets start then." I grumbled.

Cristina grinned, and pulled out a lavender dress, "Lets!"

Sebastian's POV

A sizzle came from the beaker on the fire. My eyes narrowed at the rising smoke, it would make an excellent sleeping potion. The sun was practically set, and the lake was peaceful.

I sighed, as my day came to an end. My mind was a blur, all work and no play was hard for a wizard. I felt like eating so... I turned to the lak for her plentiful fish supply.Pulling out my wand, I pointed it at the center of the lake.

"Dexxastr" I recited.

The lake began rising upwards, as I rose my wand with it. The fish lay at the bottom, flapping around like crazy. I walked down into the, now, dry lake, with my wand still pointed upwards.

Picking up a few fish I heard rustling in the forest around me. I quickly got out of the lake and dropped the water back in.

I started a fire and looked around as the rustling seemed to be getting louder and louder. Suddenly, a figure jumped out. It spooked me, but I didn't let my uneasiness show. I took a deep breath and looked at it.

It smiled, and I soon recognized it.

"Georie, what are you doing here?" the short little dwarf came out to my vine shack and sat by the fire. He uninvitingly took a fish and gave a hardy laugh.

"Master Sebastian, I have great news." he said in his sinister, eerie voice.

"Well then, tell me you lazy oaf." I grumbled, beginning to eat my own fish.

"Donvix has captured Aslan."
