I had been stressed these few days. Not only did I have to find another job but I also had to find another area to relax alone. The Serendrian Lake used to be my go to spot whenever I felt overwhelmed, but now that the Serendrian Lake was becoming well known, I won't be able to go there.
Now I'm in the Serendrian Forest overtaking my thoughts. Frustration took over me. I started to talk to myself like a mad individual. I scraped my shoes like a little child, not letting my feet lift up properly as I kicked sticks and leaves over.
Noticing the darkened sky, I pondered if my mother would show any concern to me being past curfew. I remained my head low with bad posture.
Mentioning her feels weird. We started to have frequent arguments. Most of the arguments were petty to even remember. My mum and I never got into arguments but for some reason it had became a daily thing for us.
I didn't want to think about her this moment.
I kept strolling without thinking about her input. I've already had enough of everything. Losing my job; finding another comfort spot and getting into arguments with my mum. Everything was just far too much for me.
I was a blacksmith. I would craft weapons, armour, tools etc. Recently, my manager challenged me and another colleague to see who would make a better product. The one with the better product could have a promotion.
I needed that promotion.
I started off by making a typical sword. I journaled all my ideas onto a notebook that I had used for other ideas.
The sword was getting together, all I needed was the enchantments to make it unique. The sword was originally purposed for battles; I was going to gift it to King Fahd if he accepted it. He never had any change of weapons or armour, so why not make something like this for him?
Not until Aldric Blackthorn came along by burning my notebook. First, he stole my notebook when I left it in the back of the store, he decided to burn most of the pages that had my ideas for the sword. After, he destroyed my sword in front of me. It happened so fast.
Of course I wasn't going to let that slide. I fought him at the back of the shop until Lysander, my manager, ran out and stopped me.
Aldric was bleeding from his mouth and head. I left a few bruises on his arms. He ended up playing the victim and I got fired on the spot with no explanation to give Lysander. Lysander mentioned that I wasn't allowed to come inside the shop anymore, despite my belongings were still in there. All I thought in that moment was that Aldric was a stuck up and Lysander can kiss his ass.
Although I wasn't allowed inside, later the day I went back to get my stuff.
No way I was leaving it there.
I still hate how Aldric got away with destroying my product. It had taken me ages to build it.
No one could make me like him, not the even slightest bit. The dumbass can get the promotion.Getting out of my thoughts, I lifted my head wandering my eyes around the forest.
It's so peaceful.
The trees were like magical guardians of the forest, with vibrant colours, sparkling leaves, whimsical shapes. Some had glowing fruits with enchanted flowers and branches that seemed to dance in the wind as it blew. It was calming to see how beautiful nature is. I embraced the forest for a while, appreciating the natural surroundings.
Looking further, I paid attention to an unknown person ahead of me. It gave me the impression of a young girl. She seemed to be about my age from the looks of it. She was sat on a log, leaning on a nearby tree. I took in her presence.
How can a young girl be so calm, sitting alone on a log in the midnight breeze? No negativity, she just seems at ease.
All of a sudden, she moved from her place. The girl turned around and quickly went back. She might've noticed me.
Just then she moved behind a tree.
Was she hiding?
I slowly walked closer trying not to scare her. The least thing I wanted her to do was to scream. I wanted to know why she was here all alone. No one really visits the Serendrian Forest at night. Everyone knows better to leave the forest at peace at night - doesn't help that I'm here as well.
Looks like she's not close by from what I can see. Taking a slow breath, I decided to approach her — maybe start a conversation.
I don't want her to be alone, she could be in danger with no one around to help her.
