I remember it like it was yesterday. Back whenever my dad was still alive, I would spend all day at the PizzaPlex Daycare. He always worked late, so I'd always be the last kid to get picked up.

I mainly remember the beautiful sky. It was always so dark by the time we drove home. As a single Dad, his one job didn't pay well enough to enroll me into public school, so I was homeschooled. Although, he never found much time to do so. He was always really tired after work, yet he still managed to take care of me.

Although I was always the last one to be picked up at the daycare, I never felt alone. I had the company of Gregory, my only friend. Gregory was there for me when no one else was.

After a while of being friends, he finally told me about his living conditions. Having no home, either staying hidden at the PizzaPlex or sleeping in alleys every night, I felt so bad for him.

Sometimes he'd stay at my house for the night. Although his situation was pretty bad, we did have lots of fun nights together...

One stormy night...

I guess I'll watch a movie before bed, Cassie thinks. She mindlessly scrolls through the endless digital catalog of movies, until she spots The Immortal and the Restless: The Movie.

I remember my dad saying he used to watch this series. He told me it was recommended by a good friend of his a long time ago. I guess I could check it out. She clicks play, then goes to the kitchen to start making some hot chocolate. While the movie begins in the background, she suddenly hears a knock on the door.

"Wha- who could be at the door this late?" Cassie asks herself. I... guess I should open it.

She pauses the movie. Why am I kinda scared..? There's no robbers who would go around knocking on doors in the middle of a storm, she thinks.

Cassie heads to the door while another knock ensues. She hesitantly opens the door, then is suddenly greeted by a familiar face.

"Gregory?! What are you doing out here? It's pouring down rain!" Cassie surprisingly asks.
