Perhaps it was something about your preference that made you turn your head to Saiki's direction. You barely know the guy. Barely talked to him, even.
However, he knows. You weren't verbal about it, although you were very creative with it. Carrying the ability to create something, you made him your muse. Your creation and performance being put into spotlights in hopes that he would take a hint and notice it.
Even without the visible effort, Saiki will always know. After all, a psychic powerful like a God will not overlook such matter. Such...nuisance of a matter.
Unlike everyone, Saiki doesn't grasp romantic relationships well. Upon hearing about your thoughts and feelings about him, he felt empty and quite confused.
Why would you bother yourself with something like that? With how much you can do, Saiki thought you'd be aiming for something higher—not him.
"This painting looks a lot like you, Saiki." Kaidou pointed out. Saiki stood in front of him while his other "nuisances" of a classmate gathered beside him to take a peek of the painting as well.
"Maybe it was just a coincidence?" Aren raises a brow, a chuckle following. "I mean I'm sure there are plenty of people who looks a lot like Saiki!"
"Oh, do inform me when you see one." Saiki thought as he continued to stare at the said painting. It looks clean, like it was brushed and painted with such delicate, gentle hands. Is this how you perceived him?
"Doesn't this belong to [ name ]?" Teruhashi points out, smiling. "It does look like you, Saiki! But I don't believe you two have met?"
"Color me surprise." Saiki brushes his gaze off the painting. If he keeps paying attention to it, others might grow even more suspicious. Your creation had brought him nothing but questions, a thing he dislikes the most coming from his classmates.
"Oh, yeah. Her class uses the art room, too." Kaidou hums. He doesn't know you well, but you've left quite an impression for him to remember your name and features. "Did she leave this here?"
"Excuse me," Heads turned to your direction as you stood outside the exit door of the art room. Speak of the devil. "I left something here. Will your teacher let me get it?"
"[ name ]!" Teruhashi brightly calls out, her gentle, yet thrilled tone bringing the boys around her almost to their knees. "Don't worry, our teacher left to get something from the faculty. Are you here for the painting?"
All eyes briefly glances at the painting before returning to your nodding head. "Your painting looks like my buddy." Nendou points out from behind you, surprising you.
Your hand gripped tightly on the canvas as a smile curled your lips to hide the fact that the painting is indeed his buddy. You glance up at Saiki, seeing his attention set on you as well, curious to how you'll react to this.
"You think so?" you question, letting out a laugh. "This was inspired by a model I saw from the daily magazine."
You were lying through your teeth and yet no one else seems to notice except for the psychic himself. He can hear you panic and yet the way you deliver your words sounded so natural.
You're capable of such many things and he wonders why you're dwelling on such petty acts likes romance or with something bigger, like him.
You ended up giving the painting to Nendou. He pestered you until lunch for you to give it to him since it deeply reminded him of his best friend.
Saiki sat quietly inside his room, legs crossed as he spun his swivel chair to face the window of his room. From across the street, his gaze falls on your walking figure. Maybe one of the problems why you're still clinging on to his existence is because he's just a few blocks away neighbor.
He can see you briefly glance at his window. He made sure he is say in an angle where you wouldn't see him.
"Fuck..." from that distance, he hears you say. You sounded confused, yet at the same time sort of thrilled.
What is up with you?
