Resting her head against the rhythmic thump of the window was growing tiresome, prompting Rin to shift her head to the other side. Slowly opening her eyes, she caught a glimpse of the game captivating her boyfriend, Kyung-jun.
"Still at it?" She murmured drowsily. He merely hummed, engrossed in the game before him. Rin cozied up to his side, her arm enveloping his waist.
"Don't doze off; we're almost at the venue."
"Make me."
His hands ventured under her skirt, jolting her awake as she swiftly swatted his hand away. "In front of everyone?" she whispered, her eyes widening slightly.
"In front of everyone." he affirmed, abandoning his game. She chuckled, sitting up straight, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. Kyung-jun handed her a bottle of water, met with a quiet thanks before she took a sip.
"I think we've arrived." Seung-bin announced as the bus halted, and everyone disembarked. Night had descended upon their destination. Stepping off, Kyung-jun followed closely behind as Rin surveyed her surroundings. This was only the second time she'd been on a school trip at night. She reminisced about the first time, back in 1st grade when she slept on Kyung-jun's shoulders. The memory brought a gentle smile to her face. Kyung-jun turned to her, their luggage in hand.
"What's making you smile?" he inquired as they walked side by side.
"Remember 1st grade, when you slept on the bus holding my hand?"
"I've liked you since then." he admitted casually.
She feigned a small gasp, turning to face him. "You never told me?"
"You didn't know?" he teased, raising a brow.
"Anyway, what possessed you to bring a suitcase? We're not relocating."
"Why is it a problem? Most others did too."
"They're carrying their own luggage unlike you."
"You didn't even let me touch the luggage since we left the school. Besides, I knew my strong and handsome boyfriend wouldn't mind, right?"
"Right." he nodded, a playful agreement between them.
Stepping into the building, a captivating statue stood prominently in the center, adorned with a message urging visitors to connect to the Wi-Fi through a QR code and install the Youth Centre App automatically.
A complaint about malfunctioning Wi-Fi echoed from one of the boys. "What's the use of the QR code if the Wi-Fi won't cooperate?" She sighed, opting not to scan it.
"He probably has a lousy phone." Kyung-jun remarked, scanning the code.
"Babe, I'll take my suitcase to the room first. Let's meet at the gymnasium." She suggested, retrieving the suitcase from her boyfriend.
"Careful," he murmured, kissing the top of her head before making his way to the shared room with Seung-bin and Jin-ha.
Rin found herself rooming with Yoon-seo and Jeong-won. Yoon-seo, a friend of over ten years, shared a special bond with Rin, while Jeong-won was a bit of a mystery. Despite not knowing much about her, Rin admired Jeong-won's intelligence and hoped for them to get along now that they were roommates.
A sudden realization struck her─she forgot to inform her mom about their safe arrival. Retrieving her phone, she discovered it frozen. Testing other apps, none seemed to work. 'Turns out, it's my phone that's acting up.' She mused, deciding to text her mom later.
