Kyung-jun had summoned Da-beom to the cafeteria in order to discuss the Mafia game. Rin wasn't convinced that was his sole motive, however, she was there to intervene if things escalated between them.
As Da-beom explained the game's basics at Kyung-jun's request, Rin watched him closely. She felt that Kyung-jun was toying with Da-beom, but she could only sit back and observe.
Seung-bin's frustration echoed through the room. "It'll take forever to find the mafia."
"Why don't we just kill off random people?" He glanced at Da-beom, seeking validation. Rin, seated behind Seung-bin and Kyung-jun, couldn't help but smack him on the head. "Are you out of your mind?"
"But then the game would end...!" He attempted to justify his suggestion.
"I hope they blast your head off." Rin muttered, rolling her eyes.
(A/N: Why does Seung-bin remind me of Karube from Alice In Borderland? Lol)
"Hey, that's not cool!" Seung-bin shot her a disapproving look.
"You said you were a citizen too." Jin-ha pointed out to Seung-bin. "We can just get rid off the mafia. Why kill other people?"
"Okay, Mr. Obvious. How about you both leave the thinking to us?" Rin quipped sarcastically, slinging an arm around Kyung-jun's shoulder and resting her head against his.
The next few minutes were filled with heated exchanges between Seung-bin and Jin-ha until Kyung-jun raised his voice, telling them to stop.
"Choi Joo-won," Kyung-jun interjected abruptly. "He was the Mafia. Why is he dead?" His question hung heavy in the air, a puzzle they were all trying to piece together. If Joo-won was part of the Mafia, shouldn't he be safe from their clutches? The logic seemed twisted—Mafia killing Mafia shouldn't be allowed.
Perhaps the game's rules operated on a different wavelength. Or maybe, in the chaos of the first night, the Mafia refrained from any killings. But if Joo-won fell victim to the Mafia's kill, wouldn't it still count as a kill, regardless of the victim's identity?
Maybe Joo-won's demise wasn't at the hands of the Mafia at all. Could it be that he failed to carry out his assigned task within the allotted time, leading to his elimination?
"I'm not sure why he died," Da-beom admitted tentatively. Sensing Kyung-jun's growing frustration, hastily, he added, "The rules stated the Mafia had to execute someone."
"What if a citizen were to kill a mafia?" Seung-bin questioned catching Rin's attention. "Is that allowed?" He queried Da-beom.
"That wasn't in the rules so I'm not sure." Da-beom hesitated, uncertain.
"Instead of playing the game, let's find all the mafia and gather them in one place." Jin-ha suggestion elicited a snort from Rin. Were they always this stupid or is it just the effect of this place?
"Then we should make them kill each other!" He continued.
"That's a great idea." Seung-bin spoke up.
"Right?"
"Totally!" The blind leading the blind.
