Volume 2 - Chapter 12: New Challengers

Currently, Nana, Rei, Tanya, and Gundham were going to see the school bulletin board.

Gundham: Hehe, I can't wait to see which mortals will become our next challengers.

Rei: Tanaka-kun, don't say that so arrogantly. Who knows there would be someone can defeat us.

Tanya: It could be Haru, but then again, I don't think that he would recklessly attack us so early.

Nana: Don't forget that Haru-kun would likely destroy anyone who could be our opponents. He would save our classes as main course.

As they continued their talk, they had arrived at the bulletin board. However, there were two people standing at there and looking at the board.

Light Yagami and Echidna Kuze.

Nana: Oh, what a coincidence. Greetings, Yagami-kun and Kuze-san.

The two Class A students turned around and looked at Nana's group.

Echidna: Oh, you guys are from Class S and Class Apollyon, right?

Rei: Correct.

Light: Seems like our guess is correct. Who are you?

Nana: My apologies. I'm Nana Hiiragi. And those three are Tanya Degurechaff, Rei Furuya, and Gundham Tanaka.

Light: Oh, I see. Well, since we finally found out that you two are from Class S and Class Apollyon, then the two of us want something from you guys.

Gundham: And what is it, you mortals?

Echidna: Simple: A challenge.

That answer from Echidna would make the four surprised.

Tanya: Hold on. You want to challenge us? Why?

Echidna: Ever since I came to this school. I thought it would be boring and meaningless for me to be in such a famous school like ANHS. However, as soon as I heard about Class S and Class Apollyon, I'm now having interests in those two classes, as well as challenging you two.

Rei: And what about you, Yagami-san?

Light: Like Kuze-san, I also want to challenge you guys as you guys make me have interests in. However, unlike Kuze-san, I enter ANHS to fulfill my dream and destiny: Bringing the true justice to the world.

Nana: I see. If you two are willingly challenging us, why don't you two lead Class A?

Light: Well, I'd love to lead the class. However, since Sakayanagi-san had chosen herself as the leader, I don't have other choice but to follow her order.

Light said that with a bitter tone.

Light: Plus, I heard that she had declared a challenge to you two classes, but I doubt that she would succeed in defeating you, despite being so confident.

Nana looked at them for a few seconds and said.

Nana: Now that I think about it, you two could be Class A's secret weapons if you decide to help your class a little bit.

Echidna: Hmmm? Explain.

Nana: You may not be but if you want to challenge Class S, Class Apollyon or anyone, I think it would be better for you to have a class that you can work with. Who knows you two might be two of our biggest enemies to us in the future.

Light closed his eyes for a moment, as he was thinking about what Nana said.

Light: You know, that sounds interesting. But I will think about it later.
