Years past , one day Argo is in a bar having a drink , where he met Van helsin . The two immediately became friends but Argo never told him who he really was . Van told him on how he became the famous vampire hunter. He told him an old man named cain gave him the instructions on how to kill vampires and he also told him if he killed the original vampire all vampires sired from his blood would die which makes his job easier . Argo was furious but he could not show his anger to Van so he decided to return the favor by teaching Van how to hunt werewolves . He told him they were allergic to silver so having fine silver swords would even the odds against them plus , they are most vulnerable in their strongest form so a silver inflicted wound is deadly in their wolf form so it was smart to hunt them during the full moon. Van was thankful for the information and he started preparing to head to Russia where many cases of werewolves attacks were suspected . Van discovered that he could make silver bullets of which made the hunt against werewolves slightly in his favor , so in each town he killed a werewolf he taught the locals how to use silver bullets against them and soon the news spread , other towns too started making silver bullets werewolves were now being hunted every full moon , it got bad that Cain started to worry his lineage would be in danger , and he knew it must have been vampires who gave the humans the means to hunt them . He gathered his offsprings ready to eliminate their mortal enemies but since some vampires lived amongst humans in hiding attacking them was misinterpreted as attacking humans which caused more rampage. Cain finally caught wind of Van helsing who was by now an old man and murdered him but the damage had been done humans were aware that supernaturals existed and they did not welcome them , witches , werewolves and vampires were condemned to death without plea and anyone associated with them suffered the same fate. The BOSS had to be called and figured out how to end this crisis . Witches were mostly angry because among the other supernaturals they were the most vilified and slaughtered meanwhile they kept humans out of harms way in any ways they could but because of the actions of vampires and werewolves and not to mention the ongoing war , they were now dragged to the lot and since witched are mainly considered healers and alchemists . They did not posses much offensive tactics in their arsenal as their fellow brethren so this war was unfair to them . The Grio spoke and addressed each faction and their involvement to creating these circumstances , but in the end Cain was found as the source , he refused to take responsibility and swear animosity to all members of The BOSS and he left . Following his actions The BOSS was disbanded which each faction going on their own and taking their chances .
