"now who brought their father to the meeting?" you looked down at the middle-aged man
.
.
.
the room went quiet after your question, but it was soon followed by multiple muffled laughter as your new teammates held their hands to their mouths to prevent themselves from bursting into laughter
"Hey, I'll have you know that I'm only nineteen!" the male retorted in frustration
"you're lying" a look of shock and horror overtook your face
"HEY WHY IS IT SO SURPRISING!" he cried out
"out of pure honesty captain, I wouldn't have believed you were nineteen if I didn't know you" Kazuma sweatdropped at his captain
"Most girls your age would be drooling all over me" the man slumped his shoulders as he sulked
"hate to break it to you man, but I'm not into men who look like they belong in the streets" you faced away from Aiku
"anyways, putting that aside!" the man's mood shifted quickly "I'd like to discuss with the coach, so you guys are dismissed"
as you and shidou walked passed the U-20 players, you could hear multiple comments about them not wanting to play with the both of you or Sae and that they were perfectly capable to beat blue lock without your help
"and then they say I'm in the wrong for beating them up" shidou tsked as he kept walking "they're provoking me"
"you'll beat someone up regardless if they provoke you or not" you sigh pulling on his collar to make sure he wouldn't attack anyone else
"it's about time I buy you a leash, you clearly can't be left roaming alone" you whisper to yourself
"WHAT'D YOU SAY!" Smiled at you angrily
"you heard me the first time" you gave him a blank look
as he was about to pounce on you, a monotone voice cut him off
"lukewarm idiots, stop messing around and let's get going" Sae stares you and Shidou down in a judging manner
"what's with you Itoshi's and that lame insult" you deadpanned at the male
"Rin's the lame one for using someone else's insult" Sae looked away from you two and began walking
"where're we going, underlash senior" Shidou invaded the man's space as he leaned his head on his shoulder
"get off me you lukewarm bug and we're training obviously" the man shoved Shidou's face away
"I picked you both cause you seemed to have the most potential but we still have to learn to coordinate with each other" he continued walking ahead of you both
"if that was your reason for picking us then why didn't you pick your brother who also happens to be one of the best at blue lock" you rose your brow but received nothing but silence in return
"don't ignore me" you walked faster so you could walk side by side with him
"it's none of your business" he didn't bother turning to look at you "just focus on the main objective which is training"
"you better be good as they say because if I'm not living an explosion, I'm running away underlash senior" Shidou gave the magenta-haired male a cunning smile
.
.
.
after that practice, Shidou had completely fallen in love with Sae
as you got changed into your uniform, you heard muffled voices outside the changing rooms
you got closer to the door to hear who it was and recognized the voices of Sae and Aiku
"you see our ace got into another fight with your violent tag-along" Aiku's voice began to
'of course he went back for a part two' you sigh in exhaustion
"don't care" Sae responded "that ace is trash anyway, get rid of him"
"man" Aiku sigh "he might be trash to you but he's still our Ace"
"you see, our players have all agreed that they'll refuse to play if Sendou isn't in" Aiku continued "this could end up with us withdrawing the match and I know you wouldn't want that now would you, boy genius"
"are threatening me" Sae sounded slightly offended "what do you want"
"take us to victory without using Shidou or L/N" Aiku spoke in a somewhat challenging voice
the hell?
you did not just get deported and miss your chance to be in blue lock's starting line just to end up being benched
you clenched you fist in anger as you leaned back on the door to continue listening to the conversation
"the one testing you guys is me" Sae's voice got louder as you guessed he was closer to the door "if you guys can't keep up I'll drop out of the match"
Aiku's distant laughter is what ended the conversation as you leaned away from the door while frowning
"I know you were listening so just come out" Sae's voice spoke from the other side of the door
"how the hell" you gave the man a confused look
"your shadow" he pointed to your feet "I could see it move while we were talking"
"oh" was all you could muster up as an offer
I mean how could you talk to him after hearing that
first he forced you to switch teams and now he's agreeing on not letting you play, this was bullshit
"If you're worried about not playing, then don't" he looked at you directly in the eyes for the first time since you had met "by the second half, you'll be in"
"that's still a waste of 45 minutes" you frowned "if I'm not playing, you might as well send me back to blue lock"
"and what'll you do once you're back?" he rose a brow and began walking as you joined him
"they've been training for weeks, preparing and strategizing" he kept going "you think they'll change everything last minute if you show up at their doorstep"
you looked down in defeat, he was right
no matter how good and capable you were, you'd still end up being a bench warmer
"ok but that aside, why'd you pick me anyways?" that was that had been rolling in your mind for the last week
the male came to a halt as he turned to face you
"because your potential was being wasted" he responded in a serious manner
your eyes widened
"I've watched all the clips from the selection matches and I can confidently claim that you've been holding back" he got closer to you as he was now a step away from you
"Those blue lock players weren't able to bring the best out of you" his eyes flared in excitement as he, for the first time, showed emotion
"and I plan on being that person" he smirked
