Chapter 13- Growing Closer

Summary: While all the others are busy for the week, Chase and Skye get some time to themselves.

Monday- Study Day

Skye's POV

As soon as the clock hit 3:00 pm I got out of my seat and rushed to my dorm to get myself ready. Since the others were busy for the week, Chase and I planned some things for us to do to get past the week. Since it was Monday we decided to meet up at the Cafe and get some studying and extra work done. After fleshing up a bit I made my way to the Cafe. Once I got there I saw Chase sitting in a corner booth with a bunch of pastries and a couple of drinks already on the table. "Wow all of this looks amazing." I said as I approached him. As he looked up from his laptop he smiled, "Oh hey Skye." He said as he got up to pull out a chair for me. "Oh thank you." I said as I sat down. He then went back to his seat and looked at me, "So since we're in the same chemistry class why don't we go over all the notes we wrote down on the flash cards last week." He said pulling out the flash cards from his backpack. "Sure even though all that stuff is easy for me it never hurts to learn more." I said as Chase started repeating everything on the flash cards. While in the middle of him talking I zoned out as I started examining him. I always admired everything about Chase. How strong, smart, and brave he is. Not to mention he's so cute. Despite us being friends my feelings for him became much more. I just wish I had the confidence to tell him. Going pass all that, after hours of studying and work we called it a day so we can prepare for tomorrow.

Tuesday - Picnic Day

Chase's POV

After going through hell at the store I was finally able to get everything I need to set up the picnic I planned for Skye and I.  Thankfully they had everything that Skye likes. After leaving the store I went to the park half an hour early so I can set up. Once I got to the park I went right to work on setting up everything. Once I was done I got a message from Skye...

"Texts between Chase and Skye"

Skye- Hey Chase, I'll be at the park in 3 minutes

...

Chase- Ok see you soon

...

Skye- Ok 🩷

I looked at the last message Skye sent that had a heart emoji and immediately blushed a little. I thought to myself what if now would be the perfect time for me to tell Skye how I really feel about her. Then at the same time a picnic isn't really how I pictured me asking Skye out.  As I started daydreaming I felt a paw press against my back. I turned and saw Skye chuckling a little. "Oh hey Skye." I said as I snapped back into reality. "Hey Chase, thanks for inviting me out for a picnic today." She said as she glanced over at the table. "No problem I said as we took our seats and enjoyed a nice picnic together.

Wednesday - Nothing

Skye's POV

Even though I planned to hang out with Chase after school I had to cancel on him since I had a last minute dance practice. I apologized to him and he told me that it was okay. That's another thing I admire about him, he's so understanding when it comes to situations like this. In the end I told him I'll make it up to him.

Thursday- Practice Makes Perfect

Skye's POV

After I met up with Chase in the library he had asked if I can help him study for a test that he had coming up for his criminal justice class. I agreed as he handed me some notes. "Ok Chase let's start with some basics, restate the Preamble of the United States Constitution." I said as he took a deep breath. As he restated it word for word I was surprised how he was able to restate it so perfectly. "Ok Chase now what are the Maranda Rights?" I said as he smiled and answered the question with ease. Hearing Chase answer these questions and restate the documentations made him sound so professional. After going over more notes we decided to call it a day and head to the cafe and relax for the remainder of the day.

Friday- Movies

Chase's POV

I looked at my phone and saw that it was almost 7 pm.. I grabbed my wallet and got ready to head out to the movies. After almost half an hour I arrived at the theatre and saw Skye at the concession stand. "Hey Skye." I said as I approached her. "Hey Chase it's about time you got here." She said giving me a hug. "Sorry I was getting myself situated for tonight." I said as I glanced back at her. "You look really nice." I said as I admired the pastel pink outfit she had on. "Thank you." She said softly. After a few minutes of waiting on the snacks and drinks we ordered we went to the theatre and took our seats. During the entire time of us watching the movie Skye began to lean on my shoulder. I glanced over at Skye, who was clearly tired judging by the look in her eyes. I just smiled and continued watching the movie enjoying the time I got to spend with her.
