Kayden woke to Abagail's softly telling him it's time to get up as she rubbed his back and gave him some gentle pats to his diapered butt. He pushed himself up so he would be sitting on his butt noticing the extra bulk between his legs reminding him what happened last night as he asked, "what time is it?"
"It's time for breakfast" Abagail said as she picked him up and carried him to the changing table.
He stood on the changing table as his PJs were being unzipped and pulled off him and laid to the side leaving him standing in front of her in just his diaper. He watched her reach down and put her finger inside his diaper, knowing she was checking to see if it was wet, not surprised she didn't just ask him.
She didn't acknowledge the diaper being dry as she reached for a light blue shirt she laid out before waking him. She showed it to him before putting it over his head pointing out the cute cartoon elephant and the baby mouse on it saying it would look adorable on him, which it did by not doing anything to cover up his diaper.
He was starting to get more comfortable with being carried as Abagail picked him up grabbing the pacifier out of the crib before taking him to the kitchen, we're she washed it off in the sink. Kayden was expecting, he was going to be required to use it again, so he wasted no time in asking about his phone. Abagail set the pacifier down to dry, making Kayden relax and she told him that they didn't have any rice and that phone was too damaged to get working as she started walking over to the traditional wood highchair by the kitchen table as she put him inside. He was happy to see the highchair, hating when he had to sit on his knees or sometimes stand to eat his food. He kept his hands up as he let Abigail slide the tray closer to him, locking it in place. Relieved to have the cushion of the diaper for sitting on the hard wood chair as he tried to get more comfortable only to feel the strap between his legs press against his diaper telling him that he was to stay seated until he was let out.
He watched Abagail step away for a minute only to return with a bowl of oatmeal, and a sippy cup full of orange juice, and a bib that Abagail tied around Kayden's neck.
"Thank you, Abagail" Kayden said before starting to eat the oatmeal, which was not something that was his favorite but didn't have any issue with eating being a common breakfast item in his boarding school years.
Kayden continued to eat his oatmeal but stopped for a second as he saw Michael dressed as if he was going to work out as he was walked into the kitchen to grab his wife to kiss her overhearing him say "It's official, the judge signed off." as Abagail returned the greeting. He adored watching them as they kissed and flirted with each other a little more, hoping that he can have that in his life one day.
Kayden started to eat his oatmeal again as Abagail and Michael sat down at the table with him one to each side of him. He noticed unsurprisingly Michael only brought coffee to the table, but Abagail sat down with some jelly toast and a glass of orange juice. Abagail noticing that Kayden was over halfway done with his breakfast, shared half a slice of her toast with him by placing it on the highchair for him to eat. Kayden being Michael's assistant and a bit curious asked "what the judge signed for you?"
Kayden felt the awkward silence as Michael and Abigail looked at each other deciding on who should speak first. Michael being the one to turn to Kayden and asked, "What do you know about "Safeguarding Dwarf's Defense Act"?"
Kayden thinking this is a test answered with "It's a law pasted long before I was born, and most people call it the "Helicopter Parent Act" it did some good things but also some bad depending on who you ask."
Michael looked at Abagail and smiled before looking at Kayden and asking, "Tell me what was good about and what if anything was wrong with it."
Kayden feeling like this was definitely a test and considering how the last 12 hours had made him look he felt his job might be on the line, so he really tried to articulate himself well.
