Sept, 30. Saturday, 8am.

"My dad is coming back from the military," Henny said.

I haven't really talked to him since we got here and since Toni and Jane left somewhere it was just Lisa left, but she was asleep, So I decided to come and watch the Tv with him. "So you're going back to pay him a visit?"

"Ever since we left you all act like I can't do anything myself. I've just been the helpless puppy dog you guys guard with your lives."

"Hen, it isn't like that come on. We just want you to be safe. Plus nobody even said that I just asked you a question."

"You're asking like you're ready for me to leave." His glare burned right through me. "I should've listened to Toni." He got up and stormed to his room, but I quickly followed to ask what Toni said to him. His room was clean as if he'd been planning to leave this place this entire time. He grabbed it pushing passed me towards the door.

"Aphrodite. What did he say?"

"He said you're a liar and a murderer who only killed his father and drug him away from the only family he did have!" He slammed the door dragging his suitcase behind him. I don't know how how or where he was going to go, because he sure didn't have the keys, but I just let him.

I went in the kitchen to grab a bottle of crown and pour myself a round's worth. I sat my ass down and got about three shots down just straight throwing them back before Lisa came around the corner. She took a seat next to me observing my actions.

I knew she was about to say something so I rose the bottle offering her some. She tilted her head back as I poured her a mouthful. "Some number called you. You might want to see who that was." I nod before throwing another shot back. I took my phone from her looking at the same number that called me the first night.

Fuck it's WIllow.

October, 1. Sunday 9am.

I turned the ignition off and called up Lai'Yomae to let me in. I wanted to talk to her and she was probably here, but she didn't answer me. In fact she declined it. I grab my keys and head inside the building. The same red headed lady greeted me at the front desk.

"How may I help you sir." A man not too much taller than me interrupted as I was making my way to the elevators.

"Here to see Lai'Yomae. Which room is she in?" I kept down the hall, but he was following.

"She'll notify us." He nodded as if to instruct me to take a seat. I backed off into a room with an open door, just as expected he followed me right inside.

"Room number and floor." I lifted my shirt to flash a weapon I had concealed nicely tucked under my belt.

He took a deep breath making his hands visible. Possibly he was new to this, he looked like the type you can easily boss around. "You can't get in without a keycard sir. That's why I'm telling you take a seat." He took a hard swallow.

"Take me." He gestured in the direction of the elevators. I followed behind him as he swiped his keycard and pressed his thumb against a pad that read his fingerprint. We got off on the third floor which smelled of crisp paper and a copy machine spewing out sheets could be heard.

The second to last door on the left was the one he stopped on. 'Lai'Yomae L.' was engraved in silver on the all black door. "I got it from here," I tell him. He swiped his keycard, nodded unsurely and went on his way.

The frame lit up white, so I opened the door. I watched her as she sat on a black bench facing the window showcasing the morning sky. The door clicked shut. She turned around with surprise in her eyes. "What are you doing?"

"I want to talk."

"How did you even get in?"

I flashed her the gun. "Why you avoiding me? I thought we was vibin'?"

"Because you do things like this." she rose from her seat. Gesturing towards the gun.

"My fault. It's just what I know. I've always had to work for what I want and if this is how I gotta get it, I'ma get it."

"Put it down or leave."

My left hand stood up as my right carefully went for the gun. I laid it on top of her desk backing away from it. "You can trust me."

"You can never trust someone who flashes a gun, gets anything handed to him and then proceeds to call that hard work. You're not like us." She leaned against her desk.

"Don't your parents own this? This that nepotism shit. You ain't worked for nothing." all the liveliness in her face vanished. She looked rather hurt, like something deep hit her. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean it like that."

"You don't know me."

"And I can't get to know you if you won't give me a chance."

"I don't even know the real you. You could be a murderer." She hinted in her words as if she knew, as if that's what held her back from giving me her all.

"I am." The weight left my chest, but my heart got a little heavier. Her gaze locked onto mine. Her body stiffened. Here, you don't see daylight for murder.

"I already knew." She leaned against her desk. Her gaze tearing away. "We're not supposed to discuss cases we aren't working on, but when I had to bring her some files.. I saw your name."

"Shit.." Messaging my forehead I retrace my steps and the path I went down. It's over for me. Maybe moving to Montreal was a mistake. "This is it ain't it?"

"Listen we're on your side. You just have to work with us."

"Guess I should tell you about my dad then too?" I sigh.

She gave me a funny look as if she didn't believe me, "Your father? What about him?"

"I killed him too."

"We've worked with your father." She opened a drawer digging through things. She pulled out a usb drive. I took the black stick into my hand. "He's alive."
