Sevyns POV

I'm currently sat in my favourite lesson with my favourite teacher - Literature/Miss Richard's. I forgot to eat breakfast today and i'm sat in class starving , mi sure if our bellies could speak mine would a shame me rn.

Miss richards addresses the class and brings my attention to her..

"So girls after you complete your CSEC/CXS's do any of you know what you plan to do after?" Miss Richard's says

our class remains quiet with china snickering as she scrolls through her phone.

"China since you're so engrossed in your phone would like to tell your fellow classmates what you plan to do when you finish your exams?"

"No no no miss see uh nah go force dat pon me, caz me nah go answer that" Says China

Justyn looks up from her desk "One thing with china she nah go ever be serious enuh, nuh know why you ask her miss"

"the answer ya look for miss yuh go ave to go mobay for that" China says

the class bursts out in laughter

"Tiktok is killing your generation , do you know that? Sooner or later girls you're going to have to decide what you want to do with your future, i've been teaching you guys literature for the past 2 years and i can proudly say you all have a bright future" Miss Richard's exclaims

"Class is dismissed for now , please enjoy the rest of your day and please don't forget to complete your essays for ahead of monday's class"

Standing i pulled the hem of my white skirt down as i got up , im thick so it tends to rise a lot. Reaching the end of the hallway i enter the lunch hall , i buy a a food box which consists of jerk chicken , festivals and steamed veg and sit down at the table with my friends.

We were originally a trio - Me (Sevyn), China who i've known since prep , and Justyn who we meet in 8th grade. Recently we added Heaven to our friendship group which now makes us a quad? no that's not the correct word lol ,erm quartets? Ah who cares that's us though.

"You guys going beatrice's party tomorrow?" China asked.

Justyn frowns " She rub's me the wrong way but if ennuh a fwd i will be there, Sevyn yah go?"

"A chu the gal a tek your man, he was for everybody justyn you cannot be mad plus it's a chance for us to get pretty and go out together." China says

"Yeah i'm going and leave her alone china , ignore her Justyn we're going and if anything it's a chance to show Jacob what he fumbled." Sevyns hisses

"No me did warn her ennuh , ennuh never hear me tell her fi leave man alone if them name start with J?" China asks

"You cannot judge someone by the letter their name starts with china that's dumb" Justyn exclaims

"You can and that's why your in the predicament your in now, anyways since it's agreed we're all going who's house we getting ready at?" China says

"Sevyn's she's lives the closest." Heaven explains

After school finished , i took a taxi from halfway tree and made my way home. I live in red hills with my Mum , twin brother Sekani and my little sister Star. We live in a very middle class community , nah seh we rich but we live comfortable thanks to my mother , she's a nurse. Our father lives overseas and helps where he can which i'm very grateful for , since some man when them done with the mother them forget their kids.

"Uh nuh set the link with Justyn fimmie?" Sekani asks.

Sevyn diverts her attention from her macbook and glances up at her brother. "Uh nuh know how fi knock before you enter?"

"No , Su casa mi casa (my home is your home)" Sekani says

"That nuh say , but Justyn nuh ready for a relationship right now" Sevyn exclaims

"Think she did drop deh eediat boy deh, or uh just a try cockblock? uh nuh wah a niece or nephew ? " Sekani asks

"LEAVE my room sekani uh nah tun me inna NO aunty at my young age and i've told you numerous times i do NOT want you dating my friends" Sevyn snaps

"Long run , short ketch mi muss get Justyn"

after her brother leaves her room sevyn takes some snaps then decides to take a nap.

Sevyn is woken up from her nap to her phone buzzing

Me: Weh uh wan delano?
Germs🤕: How uh mek it sound like me a bother uh?
Me: because u are? uh nuh understand weh "we leff" mean?
Germs🤕: We cya leff done tell u dat already.
Germs🤕: Me miss uh
Me: Lol , uh oil a ride uh? Avoid me man
Germs🤕: Bill nuh b
Germs🤕: Weh uh deh pon?
Me: Mi back
Germs🤕: Uh nuh plan fi grow up sevyn?
Me: No leave me alone. uh nave uh other ooman dem fi keep uh company? AVOID ME
Germs🤕: Kmt

i end up locking my screen ,i'm not replying to that.
Delano is my ex who seems to think we cannot leave each other alone. We were together from 8th grade until now , lost my virginity to him and at one point i really thought i was in love with him till i got to know the real him which is a narcissistic, abusive young man. I have my own trauma to heal from and baggage to deal with , i'm too young to be dealing with someone battling demons and he needs to accept that and move on. Plus from you cheat on me a done it done.

After getting something to eat from downstairs i decide to spend the rest of my night on tiktok... i wonder who's going to beatrice's party tomorrow ?

Sigh..... that's another thing what the hell am i going to wear?
