Always and Forever || Damon Salvatore

Prologue

It was the year nine hundred and seventy-seven, Esther and Mikael were about to be introduced to their newest bundles of joy.

After losing Freya, the family of three were miserable until they moved to the New World. Mikael wasn't the same, he was angrier and cold but that changed when the twins were born on a beautiful spring day.

"That's it, Esther. Just one more push and your baby will be born" Said one of the female healers, making Esther let out a scream as she pushed with all her might until a shrill scream echoed through-out the hut. The healer collected the baby, and instantly wrapped them in a fur blanket.

"Congratulations, Mikael, Esther. You have a beautiful baby girl" She said. Esther was over the moon as she held her daughter, while Mikael was trying to hold back tears.

When he was told that he had lost Freya, he felt broken. Of course he loved Finn, but she was his first born child. But now he has a daughter, and he made a promise to himself that he would protect her with his life.

"Okay, it's time for the next baby to come out. When you're ready, I need you to push" Esther quickly handed the baby girl to Mikael, who looked down at the little infant with nothing but pure love and adoration in his eyes.

A few minutes later, another cry was heard making Mikael look away from his daughter and to the crying baby now in Esther's arms.

"We have another son. A boy and a girl. The gods have definitely blessed us" The weeping woman said, cradling her son close to her chest.

Finn, who had been waiting outside, carefully walked back into the hut to see not one baby but two babies. Mikael turned to his son, and gently moved the little girl for the boy to see.

Finn's whole face lit up, as he looked over the baby before looking up at his father.

"Meet your sister, Finn. And over with your mother is your brother" Mikael pointed to the baby boy, who had settled down now and was curiously looking around the room.

"What are their names, papa?" The little boy asked innocently, a beaming smile gracing his features as his baby sister grasped his finger tightly.

"The little warrior will be Elijah, but we haven't come up with a name for our little angel yet" Esther spoke up.

"What do you think, little one? What shall we call your sister?" The older man questioned gently, as he grazed his fingers over the infants chubby cheeks, her big brown eyes focused solely on her big brother.

"Elin. Her name will be Elin" The boy chirped, which earned him a small coo from the baby girl.

"It seems she rather likes that name, and so do I. Welcome to the family, Elijah and Elin Mikaelson"
