In the early hours of the morning before the sun was even up, Elijah woke up with a start. Sitting up in his bed, the brunette frowned when he heard the sound of shuffling footsteps.

Getting up quietly, Elijah walked out of his room and followed the sound. When he got to the main area, his frown vanished when he saw his twin walking towards the door and outside.

Quietly, Elijah followed Elin all the way into the woods. Luckily it wasn't too dark to see where he was going, and he could easily make out where his sister was walking.

After walking for about ten minutes, Elin stopped suddenly. The male twin walked up beside her to see the glazed over look, before looking down to see a dead body. The body was of a man that lived in the village, and he was a close friend of the family.

"Eli" Came the voice of Elin, making Elijah snap his head in her direction. He saw the tears in her eyes, and knew that she had seen the body.

"It's alright, sister" He said gently, pulling her into a hug. This wasn't the first time Elin has found herself before a dead body.

The first time it happened was when she was only ten, and she saw the body of a woman who had been torn apart by wolves. The Mikaelson family had no idea where she had gone to, until they heard a scream so loud that people from hundreds of miles away would've heard her.

They soon found her, but she was no longer screaming. Elin was on the ground sobbing, her eyes frozen on the dead woman.

Mikael had no idea how his daughter came about the body or if she was the one who screamed. But as the years went on, it continued to happen.

Elin would sometimes go into a dream like state while she was awake, she would then carve pictures into a piece of wood. To which she would later find herself near a dead body, and would then scream.

The family had no idea what their daughter/sister was, but it didn't make them love or care for her any less. In fact because of this foreign power, they found themselves far more protective than before.

"Eli I--I can't--I need to--" She stammered over her words pulling away from Elijah, feeling the familiar feeling in her chest.

"It's okay. Let it out sister" Her twin said, covering his ears as his sister let out a deafening scream. The scream lasted for a few minutes, before Elin stopped and felt her body become weak. Elijah quickly grabbed hold of his sister, and held her close to him.

"Why does this keep happening, 'Lijah?" She whispered sadly, making Elijah's heart drop.

Elijah hated what Elin had to go through. She had to suffer with visions of death, the feeling of death and then going straight to the body.

Someone as sweet and kind as her shouldn't have to go through seeing and feeling so much death. He and his family hated how they couldn't help her, and that they had no clue as to what she was.

"Elijah, Elin" The voice of their father sounded through-out the quiet woods. Elijah looked over his shoulder to see Mikael with a sword in one hand, and a large piece of cloth in the other. He knew when he heard the scream that there was another death, so he came prepared.

"It's Erik, father. He is gone" He said sadly, continuing to hold his twin. Mikael walked over to the two, his eyes settling on Erik's body and he let out a sad sigh. He stepped towards his daughter, and kissed the back of her head.

"Take her back to the hut. I will deal with the body" He said softly, as Elin turned to face him with tears running down her face.

"We have to give him a good burial, father" She stated, sniffling slightly.

"Of course, my dear. Why don't you and Elijah collect what is needed for the burial, and I will meet you there, okay?" The man suggested, gently wiping away her tears. Elin nodded with a sad smile, before the twins walked back to the village. As the two walked back, they remained quiet before Elin spoke up.

"I'm sorry, 'Lijah" Elin said sadly, making her twin frown down at her.

"Why are you apologising, El?" Elijah asked.

"Every time this happens, you always have to come after me. I do not do this on purpose, I just--I can't help when it happens" She spoke, her voice shaking slightly as fresh tears appeared in her eyes once again. Elijah abruptly stopped walking, and placed his hands on her shoulders to stop her.

"Don't ever apologise, Elin. I know that you can't help it, and I hate how much you have to suffer. I wish there was a way to make it easier for you, but I'm afraid there isn't except to be by your side. You are my sister, my twin, my other half. I'll always be by your side and protect you. Always and forever" Elijah said sternly, yet softly. Elin's lip quivered, and she quickly shoved her face against his chest and held him tightly.

"Thank you, Eli. I love you" Elin said, before pulling away to wipe away her tears.

"I love you too, El. Now, why don't we go collect what we need" He said, before the two went and grabbed everything they would need for the burial.

It didn't take long for the rest of the Mikaelson family to find out about what happened. They were by her side instantly, all of them helping out where they can.

Once the grave was dug up, Mikael placed the body into it to which Elin then began to place everything inside. There were things that belonged to Erik, things that used to belong to his wife and two children who had died two years prior. There was a horses head, the horse actually belonging to Erik himself.

Elin stood before the grave with her family, minus Esther, by her side. She held a bouquet of marigolds in her hands.

"Though your life may have been taken, you can now rest easy and be reunited with your loved ones. May the Valkyries bring you safely to Valhalla" Elin said, before placing the marigolds on Erik's chest.

"Well said, sister" Kol said, taking hold of his older sisters hand and leant against her as a sign of comfort.

Elin had spent the rest of the day keeping to herself, which is something she did often after seeing or feeling someone's death.

She was beside the family hut, tending to her garden. She was planting some tulips, humming to herself when she felt a presence beside her. Turning, Elin saw Henrik grinning down at her.

"Hello, Hen" Elin smiled softly.

"Are you okay, El?" Henrik asked, kneeling beside his big sister.

"I am okay, brother. Death is sad, but it is a part of life" The teen stated softly, digging another hole and placed a seed into the soil.

"Do--Do you feel pain when someone dies?" The nine year old questioned innocently, causing Elin's heart to melt.

"It's hard to explain, but I get this feeling in my chest. Like a strong dreaded feeling. I don't feel how a person dies" Elin explained.

"So if someone was to be burnt or cut, you wouldn't physically feel it?" Her brother asked curiously.

"No, Hen. I don't physically feel it" She beamed, looking at the small boy with a fond look. She loved how innocent Henrik was, and she just hoped that he would never have to experience anything horrible in his life.

"Okay, good. Can I help with the flowers?" He asked, a smile replacing his frown.

"Of course" Elin chirped, her once sour mood now lifted and the two siblings spent the next hour planting.

A/N Sorry if this was depressing. I want to dive into a bit about what Elin is, and I'm sure a lot of you have already guessed what she is. I had originally had her as a seer, but apparently I wanted Elin to be traumatised with all that comes with being what she is.
