...Suddenly the door opened and Gothi came out with a sad face and shook his head in front of Hiccup. He knew what it meant. Hiccup immediately ran to his girlfriend, but there was no Astrid. There were only blankets smeared with blood on the bed in front of him. Suddenly it went black. Hiccup neither saw nor heard. But then there was a scream. None that came from an adult. It was a baby cry...

Hiccup has had this dream for days. He knows his child will come soon. According to the letters Astrid sent him, the baby will most likely arrive in three weeks. Young Haddock wants to support his girlfriend when their child is born. He wants to be there for both of them. He wants to be with them.

Astrid woke up early. But she knew that her boyfriend couldn't come until the afternoon. She got dressed and went downstairs. Her parents were already sitting at the table.
"Morning!"
"Morning, Astrid. Why are you so excited?"
"Mom, the dragon riders are coming back today. And I can't wait to see Hiccup. After all, he's carrying his child and it's so far in three weeks!"
"Three weeks? Wasn't it a month the other day?"
"Yes, that was a week ago, Dad," Astrid said, laughing. Astrid's father knew it, but he wanted to tease his daughter a little.

Astrid had stayed in her parents' hut all day. There was a knock on the door. Astrid went to it and opened it. It was Hiccup. She immediately ran into his arms.
"Finally you are here!"
"What do you mean?"
"We haven't seen each other in a month. I missed you. And besides, it's in three weeks," said the young Viking. Her friend's eyes lit up.
"Astrid, that's great!" Hiccup's head got closer and closer to Astrid's. When the distance was only a few centimeters, the Viking stopped. Because Astrid overcame the last distance. And just like that they were engrossed in a kiss. They stood like that for what felt like an eternity. Because of lack of air they separated from each other.
"Do the other dragon riders know that we're going to be parents?"
"Not yet. I wanted you to tell them." Astrid nodded. She understood. Still, she wondered how the others will react when they see Astrid with a baby bump. After all, young Hofferson hasn't seen the dragon riders for about seven to eight months. Hiccup took Astrid's hand and the two went to join the others.
"Astrid!" Heather shouted, immediately running to her and hugging her.
"Astrid!" The others also shouted. They didn't notice Astrid's baby bump because Heather blocked their view. The joy was about to pounce on Astrid, but Heather stepped aside and the remaining dragon riders saw IT.
"Astrid? What happened?" Snotlout asked.
"Nothing 'happened'. Guys, Hiccup and I," Astrid took a deep breath and exhaled,
"We're going to be parents." There was silence. Dead silence. Until Fishlegs broke it.
"Astrid! That's wonderful! When is the baby coming?"
"According to Gothi, in three weeks," Said the warrior and gave her boyfriend a loving look.
