4. I love you, Astrid Hofferson.

"Astrid...I-I'm really sorry. If you had told me...Of course I want the child, just because it will be our child. It's just that I would rather you had told me and not Viggo." Astrid looked at him questioningly. Hiccup then told her what Viggo told him. He came closer to Astrid and hugged her. Young Hofferson was momentarily stunned but returned the hug after a few seconds. She couldn't take it anymore and started crying. Her boyfriend put his hand on her head and stroked her hair. He tried to calm her down.
"Shhh, everything's fine. I know you've dealt with a lot of excitement today. Astrid, I will love the child. No matter what happens. Just like I will always love you." Astrid's tear-soaked face buried herself in Hiccup's chest. Only then did Astrid realize how exhausted she actually was. She almost fell over, but Hiccup caught her and put her in his bed. He took off her shoulder protectors and her skirt. The dragon rider covered his girlfriend, and then he placed his hand on her stomach. This had hardly grown noticeably.
"Hiccup? Are you angry?" Astrid asked in a fearful voice.
"No." He replied with a sigh. No, he wasn't angry. On the contrary: he was happy. His girlfriend was pregnant. He was just exhausted from all the worries that the sign of his joy was just a smile. But that was enough for Astrid to form one on her lips, too. Hiccup stood up and took off his armor. Then he also lay down. He dangled himself over his girlfriend and pushed her hair out of her face. He then caressed her cheek and then placed his hand on her stomach again. He noticed that it was good for Astrid. So the hand stayed there, and Hiccup lay down. But before he fell asleep, he whispered in his girlfriend's ear:
"I love you, Astrid Hofferson. With everything I have. And I always will." He didn't know if she could hear him, but he thought she could anyway. Eventually, he fell asleep.
