Jonas opened the apartment door and Mary yelled "Jonas is that you?" "Yeah,"

 said Jonas lifelessly.

"Come tell me what happened!" Said Mary excitedly. Mary was in her room. She was jumping up and down.

"Woah woah Jonas said happily.

"Calm down, you're going to get unplugged by your machine." Mary sighed and started relaxing.

"I'm so sorry Marry I know how close you were." The heart monitor started beating fast."Me and Jena were not meant to be together"

Mary looked like she was about to die.

"What? Jonas, she was the best thing that ever happened to you!" Then the heart monitor started going fast.

"Jonas I'm dizzy!" Mary said, closing her eyes. Jonas, freaking out, called 911.                                                                                 ✱.                   ✱                   ✱

They We're at the hospital and Mary was asleep. Jonas couldn't help but think this was all his fault. And he was beyond worried about Lila. She had been texting him ever since they got to the hospital. But Jonas had to think about Mary right now. Mary groaned and then woke up. "Jonas?" She said quietly. "Mary!" He rushed to her bedside.

"How are you feeling?"

 Jonas said hopefully.

"I'm fine I guess," said Mary, rubbing her forehead.

"The doctors said you were well, bad."Mary smiled. You can tell that she knew. Her tumor was getting worse and the shock was no help. The doctor said she wouldn't make it but Jonas didn't believe it.

"Don't go." Jonas pleaded, gripping her hand. Mary innocently smiled. "You're strong. Jonas, you know how to say no." Mary cried.

"But I promised I would always take care of you!" Jonas mumbled, gripping her hand tighter."And you're still keeping it.: Jonas thought he would cry but he didn't. He felt horrible though. " I broke that promise and I surprised you."Mary didn't react at all; she was silent and finally, she spoke.

"That was my fault, Jonas. I held onto JeanLee and wouldn't let her go. She was so nice and she treated me like a best friend. You didn't break your promise Jonas, you taught me that sometimes-" Then she chuckled.

"Not everything is about me. And that it's good to let go of people." Then she closed her eyes and the heart monitor stopped.

"NO, NO DOCTOR!" Jonas screamed Everyone rushed in with Electric things. As they tried to revive her he hadn't noticed JenaLee, her hand cupped to her mouth a few feet away from him. She walked towards him.

 "Jonas-" She said quietly.

"Leave JenaLee." Jonas cried bitterly.

"Jonas-please!" JenaLee begged.

"Get out!" Jonas cried, holding back tears.

"I'm not here for you Jonas.: JennaLee yelled. "I'm here for my only friend who truly understands me." Jonas ignored her. Maybe he should take Mary's advice, not everything was about him. But not everything was about JenaLee either. So he just walked away because JenaLee was right. Mary and Jena Lee were close.

"I'm sorry Jonas but marry's gone." The doctor cried, looking sad.

"I understand sir," Jonas mumbled too sad to speak. His dad wasn't here and Darla was at a beauty pageant. Jonas felt numb. Mary was gone. He needed Drake so he called him and he answered immediately.

"Hey bro-so um Mary's gone." Drake didn't answer for a second then suddenly:

"Oh gosh sorry man." Jonas could tell he was moving into a different room.

"Wow I mean that sucks bro." Drake then said. Jonas felt a pit in his stomach. He didn't want to talk to Drake anymore. He can tell that he is still mad at him so he hung up so he could have some time to think. He couldn't believe Mary was gone. She was only ten. She could have had a very full life, full of good things and a good family.

They burnt her later that day. The funeral was in two weeks. Jonas didn't go to school. Or leave his bedroom. Jonas' dad even took time off work to mourn with Jonas. Darla made sure everything was on schedule in the office. And her wedding. She was so obsessed with it. It was like her way of grieving even though she had nothing to grieve about. Except for the fact that Jona's dad hardly cared about the wedding anymore.
