Nalu Week 2015

Day 2: Gratitude

"Heyyy, Luce!!" Natsu greeted, entering through said blonde's window uninvited.

Lucy screamed, throwing a water bottle at his head while yelling at him. "Go away!! I never asked you to come!!"

"Oh come on, Luce, please let me stay!!" He got on his knees and begged, "Pretty please with fire on top!" She sweat-dropped at his actions and sighed.

"Just go away." She spoke, pointing toward the window. She knew he wouldn't exit through the door, so what was the point?

Just as Natsu was about to jump back out her window, she stopped him. "Wait!"

He turned back to her, a teasing expression on his face, "But you told me to leave." He mocked, pouting.

"Well- I...er..um.." She stumbled over her words, a light blush dusting her cheeks from embarrassment, "Thank you!" She blurt out.

"Huh?" He questioned, not knowing why he was being thanked.

"Well, you've always been there for me and...I've never thanked you for it. So...thank you." She looked away, completely embarrassed.

Natsu stared at her, not saying a word. Just staring at her.

"Why?" He questioned, confused.

"Huh?" She spoke softly, looking back at him. Seeing his intense stare, she blushed and quickly looked away.

"Why do you need to thank me?" He moved closer to her and she backed up a bit, "it's my job." She stopped moving and faced him, baffled.

"What do you mea-" He cut her off.

"I'm your best friend, it's my job to protect you." He was only a foot away from her now. She sighed inwardly...best friend...

"Oh..." Her mind wandered, lost in thought. She didn't even notice her pink haired friend inching closer and closer, until she felt something warm against her lips. Her eyes snapped open, being met by Natsu's closed ones. After a moment, the warm feeling vanished. Natsu pulled away, his onyx eyes meeting Lucy's wide caramel ones.

"Sorry..." He muttered under his breath, turning around and making his way towards the window once again.

As soon as Lucy snapped out of her moment of shock, she saw Natsu on the window sill, just ready to jump down. With one swift movement, she was behind him. She grabbed him by the shoulders, and turned him to face her.

Natsu was shocked, why would she want to talk to me after....that.... His moment of shock haunted when she crashed her lips onto his. His eyes widened slightly, but then he closed them and melted into it.

Lucy broke the kiss, smiling against Natsu's lips, "...thank you..." She whispered.
