"Goodbye, Lucy!" The blonde could hear Mirajane call out to her as she exited the guild.
"See you tomorrow, Mira!" She responded cheerily, offering a small backwards wave.
Exiting through the huge guild doors, she was met with a gust of icy cold wind. It was mid January, meaning the weather would be especially cold for the next couple of weeks.
"Burr.." She shivered, rubbing her arms with her hands in an attempt to warm up. After realizing her attempt was failing, she decided to just walk home as usual. Trying not to mind the cool air surrounding her. As she reached Kardia Cathedral, located right between her apartment and the guild hall, she felt a cold liquid on her palm. Looking down, she realized it had begun snowing.
With a small smile making its way across her lips, she looked up at the sky. Remembering the sweet memories she shared with her mother in this weather. Making snow angels, having snow ball fights, and even building forts. Occasionally, her father would even join them. With that her smile vanished, he changed, and not for the better. What happened?
She was shaken out of her thoughts by the sound of approaching footsteps. Looking up, her caramel eyes met dark charcoal ones.
"Heya Luce! Why ya walking out in the cold?" He asked, eyebrows furrowed in unmasked concern for his blonde best friend.
"Oh, nothing. Just walking home from the guild. How'd your mission go?"
"I was great! I got to burn a lot of stuff!!" He responded happily, grinning that adorable toothy grin of his.
"Sounds fun!" She gave a small smile, but it was bright enough to match his.
"Can I crash at your house tonight? Happy betrayed me for a sleepover with Wendy and Carla!!" He grumbled, crossing his arms and pouting.
Lucy laughed a little, sometimes her pink haired partner was just too cute. "Sure thing, I'll sleep on the couch tonight." She proposed, thinking Natsu would rather sleep on her so called 'super amazing' bed.
"Yesh!" He cheered, throwing one fist up in the air in victory, causing the blonde to giggle a bit more. But her sweet laughter was cut short by another shiver.
"You cold?" Natsu questioned, looking down at her.
"Huh, yeah a little I guess. But it's no big deal." She smiled while rubbing her arms once more.
"No it's not, you're gonna catch a cold." He thought for a bit, then got an idea, "here, you can borrow this!" He finished, unraveling his famous white scarf from around his neck and holding it out in front of her, a wide grin spread across his features.
She stared at him bewildered. Was he really letting her wear that?! The scarf that is so precious to him he rarely lets anyone touch it.
"A-are you sure, it just seems pretty special to you, ya know?"
"Huh?" He was confused, "Why would I offer it to you if I wasn't gonna let you wear it?"
"Uh.." She was stuck, he had a point. Her moment of bafflement was cut short by the feeling of something warm being draped around her neck.
Her eyes widened as she looked up at him, light blush dusting her cheeks, only to be met by the sight of him staring straight back at her. Half a second later, he swiftly turned away, a deep blush coating his cheeks.
"T-thanks." She spoke in a daze, her blush darkening, as they started walking again.
"No problem." The pinkette muttered, speeding up slightly.
