This is a story I'm thinking of posting, thinking of it as the extra chapter I promised chapters ago.
"Asael Von Rose, third son of the southern Duke and fiancé to the crown prince, is guilty of treason towards the royal family. He shall be beheaded at town square, and his shall head shall he hung at the royal palace by the emperors decree"
Where did it go wrong?
Asael was held captive in a dark cellar in the basement
The food he was fed was rotten bread and dirty water.
The food worsened day by day, become inedible as the time passed.
If he wasn't going to die from the guillotine, he'd die from food poisoning or malnutrition,
Asael sat behind the bars. He was chained down so he could hardly move
He was handcuffed with mana resistant handcuffs
The cellar was dark, with no sight of light anywhere it was hard to tell what time it was.
He thought back to 8 years ago, when he was 12.
When he first met the crown prince, it was in the palace garden
He saw him in a tree, and the crown prince invited him to sit by him
They sat together and admired the vast variety of flowers
He enjoyed the cold breeze and the jokes they made
He remembered praying the moment would never end
He remembered the crown prince picking up a Dahlia flower and placing it in his hair
"My older sister says Dahlia's are often associated with beauty and positivity, so this fits you."
His face turned red, and he covered it in embarrassment. What was this feeling? Love.
Now, looking back, he wished that he had never met the crown prince, he wish he had never gone into the garden. He wished he never followed that butterfly.
But he really couldn't blame himself. The only person that he could be him around was the crown prince
Asael was illegitimate and was only adopted into the legit bloodline because of his Mana potential and beauty.
He never got treated with respect and was forced to be how others told to be
His father never paid any mind to him,but he believed that his father would certainly love him. One day
He thought his siblings would view him as a brother
He thought his adoptive mother (and current duchess) would view him as her son
He thought the maids and Butlers would view him as their young master
But the crown prince was the only one who viewed Asael the way he wanted to be viewed
Their relationship was perfect, Asael would always spend time with the crown prince
They were inseparable, but Asael grew too attached to Eros -> (I gave him a name)
He'd start getting jealous when someone other than him talked to him in any way
This annoyed Eros and caused their first argument
This damaged Asael more than it did to Eros,
Asael has attachment issues
Eros doesn't.
Asael has feelings for Eros
It's unrequited.
Asael loves Eros
