Here I was at home without Mikaela or my daughter.

"I will fight for my daughter, no matter what" I said.

"That's what you always say" Judith said as she walked in.

I had met Judith while I was in Michigan, turns out she was also living in Los Angeles. After Sharing my story with her at the coffee shop we had become close friends.

"I know but now I need to actually take action" I said. "Well hurry up and do it, cause your time is ticking away" Judith reminded me. "Don't even remind me" I said and sighed.

"While you think of a plan I'm going to get back to work" Judith announced and stood up.

Judith was a painter, not a multimillion painter but she made enough to survive.

She took out her paints and hit shuffle on her phone. She had to have music playing in the background or else she couldn't work.

"Could you please never play that song when I'm around" I said. "Damn why you so salty" Judith asked as she changed the song. "I gotta go" I said and grabbed my jacket. "I'm sorry I got you mad" Judith said and grabbed my arm. "its not you, I have stuff to take care of, I'll text you later" I said and walked out.

I zipped up my jacket and got into my car.

At a red light I called Jason.

"Hello?"

"Jason its me Kevin"

"Hey Kevin how've you been?"

"I've seen better days"

"What's wrong?"

"Could you represent me in a case?"

"Sure, whats the case?"

"Meet me at Cathy's café and I'll tell you"

"Okay" Jason said and hung up.

"You have a kid?" Jason asked after we ordered our drinks. "Yeah, but the mother doesn't want me in her life" I explained. "Who's the mom?" Jason asked. "Mikaela" I said. "Are you serious?" Jason asked. "Yes" I said. "You guys seemed so happy I didn't think you would have to go through this" Jason said. "So are you going to help me?" I asked. "Yeah" Jason said," she'll get a letter in the mail in about a week. It'll be stating what day she needs to show up to court" Jason explained. "Thank you" I said.
