Paige's POV
Once we got to the festival, the guys left us in a spot where we could enjoy their performance and not be too far away from them either. They sung "Kiss you", getting the crowd, and the incredible amount of fans all hyped. Lauren and I were dancing along and just goofing around, enjoying ourselves until they finished and we met them at the back of the stage.
"So what did you ladies think?" Liam asked while walking down the stairs of the stage.
"It was great" Lauren said, "and fun!" I finished excitedly. He gifted a warm smile at us and even I couldn't suppress the grin that spread on my face; so imagine Lauren's!
The rest of the boys skipped down the stairs and greeted us with hugs. We literally didn't see them for less than 10 minutes, it wasn't so big of a deal; I didn't mind though. I'm always down for hugs!
Before I had time to engage in any type of conversation with the rest of the boys, Niall hung his arm around my shoulder and hauled me away from everyone. I wasn't sure what he wanted but I tried to keep myself calm and ignore the heat in my face, and especially his arm around my shoulder. It was distracting in a "oh-my-god-he's-touching-me" kind of way.
"Soooo" I dragged on the word and I felt Niall looking down at me. I didn't dare look at him; but I knew he was probably smiling.
"So, did you like it?" he asked.
Did I like what? Oh yeah, the performance. God, I'm nervous!
"Yes, loved it. I like the chiney chin chins part" I said with a grin. My comment was rewarded with a hearty laugh from Niall.
"That's my favorite part also" he said matter of fact. I smiled at the ground.
"Uhm. I know this is going to be really straight forward and I hope it doesn't make you uncomfortable but... I was thinking of you while I sang" the last part he said it oh so softly. I closed my eyes and let out a silent breath. Well I was thinking of him kissing me during the song as well, but I didn't have the guts to tell him that. So I did what I do best. Avoid the issue.
"It doesn't make me uncomfortable..." I said softly, but I could feel heat rushing to my face at my lie. Hopefully he didn't notice.
"Hey Paige...." but he trailed off. I looked up to meet his eyes but his gaze was focused somewhere else.
"What's wrong?" I asked at his worried expression.
"I may be wrong, especially since I only saw him once. But isn't that you supervisor/ boyfriend's cousin?" he said pointing at the horizon.
It took me about ten seconds to spot him. He was there with the winners group.
"Crap!" I muttered leaning my head down to not attract his attention. Then I grabbed Niall and placed him in front of me. He was taller than me so he obscured me from the view of any curious eyes.
"What the hell is he doing here with them?" I asked in a whisper.
"Why are you whispering, they're too far to hear you with all the noise around in this place anyways?" Niall asks, imitating my hushed tone.
I roll my eyes at him.
"It's my freaking-out voice" I snapped, but smiled to soften my words. He raised an amused eyebrow at me and put his hands up in surrender.
Then a thought hit me: Lauren.
I took my phone out of my pocket and dialed Lauren's number. She answered on the third ring. Before I could even say anything she says, "Michael is here!"
