Kaneki held the small child in his hands, her little hands waving in the air as she attempted to grasp his hair. Her bright blue eyes looked up at her fathers broken grey eyes, wonderment spreading across her face. "Kaneki..." Touka said, smiling as held a small girl on her hip. The little girl moved up and down, trying to get her mothers attention as Touka looked into Kaneki's deep eyes. "M-mommy..." The young boy clutching Touka's leg asked, tugging at her skirt. "Can we go h-home?" He asked, his white and violet hair waving in the slight breeze.
Kaneki rubbed his head. "We just got out, Ken-chan." He said. The boy reached his arms up to his dad, his face merging with a pout. Kaneki handed the baby girl to Touka and she adjusted the toddler.
Kaneki lifted Ken's little body up off the ground, bringing him to rest on his hip. The little boy was nine and frail, never being able to control his ghoul eye, wearing a small black eyepatch on his face. He looked just like Kaneki when he was smaller, except the hair.
Kaneki tucked Touka's scarf back into place as Rue, the toddler, pulled it out of her jacket. Kaneki touched her cheek, his soft fingers brushing her skin. She smiled a little and leaned forward, her lips brushing his and he smiled. "I love you." She said.
Kaneki's fingers played over her face, his dark fingernails a dark contrast to her light skin. "I love you." He said back. He felt Ken's hands holding onto his chest and he could hear Rue and the new baby, Saki's, delicate breathing.
He smiled softly. 'It was a good life.' He thought. 'It was a good life.'
