Kaneki
Kaneki walked down the street, the 20th ward seeming peaceful as it usually did. He carried a bag of books in his hand for Hinami, all of them by a new writer they had both begun to like.
"Kaneki?" A girl's voice said, and Kaneki turned, his white hair flashing in the last rays of the sunset. "Kaneki!" the girl called again and Kaneki saw her.
"T-Touka?" he asked. She was running towards him and he dropped the bag as she threw herself at him with a hug.
"Kaneki you idiot!" she said, nearly crushing the air out of him.
"Touka-" Kaneki started.
"I missed you..." she said, her face pressing into his chest. "Don't leave again, you idiot... don't leave me ever... ever again..." she whispered.
"Touka..." Kaneki said, a light blush brushing his pale cheeks. "H-Hinami is waiting for me... I said I would bring her these books."
"Please come back to Anteiku... everyone's... everyone's waiting..." she said, her voice quiet and soft.
I pulled her off of me, my fingers a little rough on her skin. "Touka... I need to go..." I moved away from her and ran down the street, the bag of books in hand.
She called after me, but I ignored her.
When I made it back to the apartment where Hinami, Tsukiyama, Banjou, his three henchmen, and Kaneki lived, I opened the door and slipped inside.
"Kaneki's back!" Hinami's sweet voice sang from the kitchen. She came running into the hall and tackled Kaneki with a hug.
"I'm going to drop your books, Hinami!" Kaneki said, grabbing the bag before it could fall.
"You got my books!" she said happily and stole the bag from me, running off and putting herself on the couch. She pulled out the first book, one with a man's dead body on the cover.
"Kaneki's back." Tsukiyama's voice said.
Kaneki walked into the kitchen and sat down, running a hand through his messy white hair.
"You see anyone while you were out?" Banjou asked.
Kaneki looked around the kitchen for a moment - Banjou reading a book, his three friends trying to get Hinami to play with them, Tsukiyama making coffee. "I saw Touka." Kaneki said.
Tsukiyama put the coffee pot down and turned to Kaneki. "Are you cheating on me again, Kaneki?! I thought that our love was supposed to last seven lifetimes! You monster!" Tsukiyama fell to the floor and Banjou caught the coffee pot, some of the dark liquid slashing out and splattering Tsukiyama's face.
"You're just the crazy Gourmet who wants to eat everyone." Banjou said, putting a cup in front of Kaneki and filling it. "Why would Kaneki love you?"
The tearful Gourmet sat up, his ghoul eyes showing. "But... but... eating him is a way of showing love!" he said.
"Showing love to yourself." Banjou said, getting himself a cup.
Kaneki had been sitting there, feeling very uncomfortable. "She said that she wanted me to go back to Anteiku..." The whole apartment got quiet.
"Will you?" Tsukiyama asked, standing and wiping the coffee off his face.
Hinami ran into the kitchen, her hair waving. "We can go back to see Touka onee-chan? And Manager?" She asked, her bright little eyes smiling.
Kaneki put a hand on her head, ruffling her hair. "Maybe..." he said. She ran back into the living room, laughing and saying she was going to get to see onee-chan, finally deciding to play with Banjou's friends.
"So what, are you going back to the 20th ward to Anteiku?" Banjou asked.
Kaneki looked out the window. "I don't know..." he said.
He sighed. 'I miss Touka...' he thought, endless memories spinning around in his head.
