"... And that's why we should make our first advertisement as a musical number," Blitzo concluded, standing in front of a whiteboard with pin-up crude sketches. In the conference room, Blitzo had spent about an hour pitching an idea for a televised ad for their business. For the most part - he thought - it was a great idea. A little dance, a catchy jingle, and a quick thirty explanation of their business and where to find them would help more souls in Purgatory. He looked at his employees, reading their faces to gauge how good this might be. Moxxie seemed curious. Millie looked intrigued. And Loona... Her head was face down on the table, so she was trickier to read.
"So what do you guys think?" he asked.
Moxxie rubbed his chin, "I mean... in theory, it could work? Of course, if I were to write the music, I would need some time to write it well enough."
"Sure thing," Blitzo nodded, "But remember, it doesn't have to be anything too long, just something quick, snappy, and a tune that will give people earworms for years."
"No promises, but at least I will try."
"Great!" Millie raised her hand. "Yes?"
"Do we even have enough money for something like that? Besides, who is gonna film it and all that?"
"Don't worry, I have a certain patron that owes me a few favors. Money shouldn't be too much of a problem. Plus, there are at least a couple of film studios around Purgatory that could help out."
Millie sat back in her seat in thought, "Ya know what? Why not? If it helps the business grow and reach out to as many souls as possible? I say let's do it!"
"Glad you see it that way." Blitzo smiled, "And you, Loonie?" No answer. "Loona?"
Instead, she answered with a snore.
"Is she seriously sleeping again?" Moxxie questioned. "Sir, this must be the fourth time she's done this this week."
Blitzo ignored him and glided over to the sleepy cherub. At first, he tried nudging, then snapping in her ears, "Hello? Purgatory to Loonie? Anyone home?" he asked aloud but got another snore in response. Spotting a glass of water, Blitz dipped his hand in it and flecked the droplets on her face.
Instantly, Loona shot up from her seat, and her head went through the ceiling tiles above them. " Gah! I wasn't asleep! " She scrambled out from the hole she made before anyone could help her. "Don't scare me like that!"
"Loonie, you were asleep." Blitzo said, "Did you hear the idea I had at all?"
"Uh..." Loona rubbed her eyes, floating back to her seat. "Not... really?"
Blitzo frowned, "Okay, seriously, Loona, what's going on? Haven't you been getting enough sleep? Because you've been doing that on the job recently."
"I know, I'm sorry." She yawned. "But I couldn't help feeling drained from going all those therapy sessions late- HEY! " Loona's chair was suddenly rolled around to face her uncle. He was looking at her with shock and intense worry.
" Woahwoahwoahwoahwoah! Hold on! Stop everything!" Blitzo knelt down, "Loonie, are you okay? What's going on?"
"Nothing, I'm just taking up some therapy." Blitzo only now realized that, up close, there was something... off about Loona. Dark rings were under her eyes, her wings and limbs seemed sluggish, and it looked like she was fighting to stay awake.
