Ariella and I still haven't talked about what happened at the club that day, much less had our "first" date.

She spent the whole other day here at home, I don't think it's necessary to specify what we were doing, but we were happy doing it.

So that day of the game and the day after were the last days I saw Ariella in person, we spent the next few days chatting via text.

Ariella isn't a picky date person so she considers any day we see each other in person a date, I'm more old fashioned so I asked her out on a proper date.

I know how important privacy is to us, so the idea is something right here at home. The original idea was for me to cook something nice for us and choose movies for us to watch, but it's no secret that I have zero culinary skills.

So I went back to square one where I didn't know what to do. This period of not knowing what to do didn't last long, because during the call on the way to the training center, while talking animatedly about her Italian roots, Ariella asked the following question: I know you faithfully follow your childhood palate, but have you ever eaten lasagna? A truly Italian one?

When I said no, she quickly makes plans for our night.

" )Good, you're going today. I hope your kitchen is clean because mine isn't and I need a place to cook. "

"But wait, I thought you would only see my house on our real first date..." I interrupted her, sad about her getting in the way of my romanticism and chivalry.

"It's okay Lee, this could be our first date. Buy flowers and candles, the only difference is that I will cook for you."She sighs, as if she were dealing with a child and even though I'm sad, I think about the expression she must have on her face right now and I smile.

"I don't think that's how it should be."

"Love, let's face it, we don't follow the standard, we never did from the beginning." This time I'm the one who sighs but I know she's right.

"Plus, Alex told me that day about your culinary skills, or lack thereof, so how come you wanted it to be you who took me on a date or cooked for us?"

"I would think of a solution for this, ok?" I say without any argument, which makes Ariella laugh and occasionally me too.  "And what do you mean Alex told you that? When did you talk?"

"I don't know, you were probably dancing with Jess and couldn't have seen it, but, we are already talking via text message too. She invited me to the next brunch at her house."

"They're great, you'll love them..."After that, we talked until I entered the locker room. Obviously I had to hang up to go train and she had to call her grandmother and ask for the recipe for her lasagna and go buy the ingredients.
