"Wake up Runt," Maul poked my face, "or I'll feed you to the Nightbrothers." I sat up, rubbing my eyes. My side hurt like hell still because of Maul, who right now is walking down the ramp.
"Where are we?" I huffed as I caught up with him. He's got a big backpack on him, his hood up, and he seems to be on a mission. He looked to be focused. So I decided I should be focused to. What do I focused on?
"You focus on what's around you," wow its like he read my mind, "that's because I can read you mind, Runt, your thoughts are so loud. We can fix that later, but the first thing you should do is focus on your environment. See where the escape routes are, constantly check if you're being followed. See how you can use the landscape to your advantage. If you tune into the force you will be able to sense everything around you. We must be aware of our surroundings so we aren't discovered, that's what's most important when it comes to survival."
"Are we the good guys?" That question has been on my mind for a while. I was taught that the Jedi were bad, so I assume that means we, as Sith, were good but I wanted to make sure. As I look around I noticed that everything was red. But not a pretty red like my saber, it's more like the red that blood is. It was like the planet was bleeding. I could feel the sadness and death on this planet.
Maul stopped walking and to kneel down by me and place his hand on my shoulder, "Little one," he sighed looking me straight in the eyes, "everyone is a hero in there own eye," he paused for a minute debating what to say next, "That's what makes everyone dangerous. Especially the Jedi. Even us." He whispered the last part so softly I barely heard him. He's been doing that more, mumbling under his breath, thinking I can't hear it. I hear all of it. It's like he's scared.
We continue to walk on the red planet. The more I focused around me the more I got creeped out. The trees seemed to be weeping because of how low they were and they cast odd shadows on the ground, which was even weirder because the red sun was covered by clouds. The whole place was covered in reddish fog. There were random fungi growing everywhere and it seemed so dry here too. I felt a cold presence all around us and the random screeching wasn't helping either. I reached up and grabbed Mauls hand. I'm happy he didn't pull away.
"Are we there yet?" My feet hurt because it felt like we've been walking forever. Not to mention my side that got kabobed two hours ago was burning like hell.
"We'll get there when we get there. And we've only ben walking ten minutes, your side will be fine," he rolled his eyes at my impatience.
"Oh... Well when do you think we will get there?"
"Thats literally the same question you just asked."
"I know, I figured if I asked it differently I would get the answer." I've seen Master do that with the medic droid so I figured it would work with Maul.
"Did you just compare me to that stupid fucking droid?" He stops walking and turns and looks down at me with murder in his eyes. Fuck he can read thoughts. Oops.
"Yeah oops is right Runt. As of right now you will not speak till we reach our destination. Am I clear?" I just stared at him to give my answer. He stares at me waiting for the reply but then seems to realize that I was doing what he said.
"Right. Good Job. When we get settled down I'll teach you to guard your thoughts, I'm tired of hearing them" with that he grabs my hand and we continue to walk to Force knows where.
Two minutes later while walking I to felt something. No wait it's people. I looked up to see if Maul felt it too and he seemed to be on high alert. He slowly pulled me behind him for protection. Slowly a several horned men emerged from the red cursed looking woods with weapons, they slowly started to circle us. I scooted closer to Mauls legs.
