The finale is finally here and the book comes to an end. It was a fun journey writing a short story. I know I lacked in expressing some parts of the story but I hope to become better as I keep going.
(I am an introvert my story somehow got molded like me and sometimes lacked the spirit to express itself. 🥲)Completing a story feels a little sad as throughout the book I got attached to the characters in a way. So I would like to share with you all the process of how the story idea came to my mind and how the entire story writing process. (PHEW! it was a relief when I marked it completed.🙇🏻♀️)
I am a hardcore Swiftie (some people really judge me for that but who cares not me! [Bombastic side eyes 👀]) and one fine day I was listening to Style by Taylor Swift when the story idea came to my mind and it stayed there for a few days while I created the plotline and created the characters.
(I have got dark circles because of that now.🙂)The draft creating process was tough and draining as I had to put a lot of time into perfecting every single detail. (Still it didn't turn out perfect, I am a little disappointed 😔.)
At first I wanted to name Asher something entirely else and not make him a designer but I changed that thought. (Thank goodness I did.)
I named the female lead after learning about the meaning of the name which is ‘Fortune’s Favourite.’
Even while I was searching for the pictures which represented the characters well I was very picky and it took me a week or more to finally put together the characters.
The story board creating process was even more hectic. I started writing this story while my other book was ongoing and I became stressed because of that. The school work put even more pressure on me which turned the process even more hectic and I was drained but this story helped me a lot to overcome the tiredness.
([Again Bombastic side eyes👀] I had some serious meltdowns when I wasn't able to figure what to do next.)I mainly wanted to keep the story short and mainly focus on the two main characters and their story.
Then came the book cover. I always make my own covers and keep three or four options but for this story I was surprisingly satisfied with two only. (FYI, I am very picky while making book covers.)
Main cover
supplementary one.
I had decided to write a total of ten chapters but it ended within eight chapters. I have to say it actually made me happy. :)
The draft work started on: 13th December 2023
And ended on: 1st January 2024
total word count for draft was: 12,829
The book was published on: 19th December 2023
And marked as completed on: 15th February 2024
Total word count: 14,122
So it was quick work instead of how a normal book with 20 or more chapters would have taken an entire year or more.
Towards the end of the book I decided to make a few more short stories with the characters who were already mentioned in the book and I will be publishing them whenever they are ready, so the story will go on.
( I know I shouldn't get ahead of myself and take on more work but I am an overconfident bitch who thinks she can handle pressure.🙋♀️)I also need to thank my best friend who got to read my drafts before it was published and gave me her opinions which were a little helpful.
(I didn't use any of her remarks lol, again I was overconfident.🙃)That girl loves to make my life hard by doing weird stuff but is useful whenever I need someone's opinion. So to my number one supporter, thank you.
(Even though I HATE it when you never answer your phone when I call.)Thank you all for joining me on this journey. ♡->❤
