I closed my eyes and focused on the rhythm of the flowing river. It was a gentle stream of water passing in front of us, occasionally crashing against its banks, only while making the sound of the blissful silence better.

Shinyu sat next to me, enjoying the sound too. Hyeri was at pre-school and we both had a day off, so we came to the riverside to destress ourselves.

After a while, he laid his head on my lap and closed his eyes. I could not help but play with his hair. He needed a haircut, but the messy hair only made him look more attractive than ever.

I bent down and gently pecked his lips. He closed his eyes and lost himself with the sound of the water running down.

Shinyu smiled when I started adding a small bit of pressure with my fingers, giving him a massage. I knew how much he needed it. God knows how he could manage his money in such a way to provide for himself and even Hyeri.

Shinyu handed me his fishing line, and I patiently waited in a jetty while he picked up Hyeri from school. I did not catch a single fish until he returned and took the rod from my hands.

Hyeri smiled widely and Shinyu helped her sit on the jetty's edge. She wanted to jump in and swim. Shinyu jumped first, then I gently helped Hyeri down, while he caught her.

I did not expect Shinyu to hold me too while I descended from the jetty. He placed a small kiss on my temple and held my waist in the water from the back.

To my surprise, Hyeri was an excellent swimmer and did not need help to stay afloat. Unlike me. I refused to let go of Shinyu, scared to death of drowning in that river.

He carefully held on to my waist underwater.

"Just breathe," he spoke and I felt his breath fanning my neck, sending shivers down my spine. He was so close to me, and yet, we were not uncomfortable at all.

I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. He loosened his grip on me and his hands trailed down to my wrist.

I kept my eyes closed and believed in him. He slowly let go of me, and I did not even realise it until I opened my eyes and found myself floating. My eyes widened in shock, and my body was naturally lowering itself but I kicked my feet from underneath and remained on the water alongside Shinyu, who was smiling at me.

Hyeri fell asleep after having dinner. For the first time in two months, I was having a real dinner with Shinyu. We caught a fish and grilled it. We did not add any condiments because we could not afford it but it still remained the best meal I have had in weeks.

Shinyu lay down next to Hyeri and gazed at the stars. I was next to him and stared deeply at the stars' faint shimmer in the sky. He placed a hand on my torso, bringing me impossibly closer to him. My breath could not catch up. I stared into his eyes, lost in them. He was looking dreamy.

But then, suddenly, I did not know what it was, but his eyes were sad.
