SMACK!

A pile of papers fell before Velvet, currently 11 years old. She had just started private middle school, and it wasn't going great. The oddly grumpy principal glared at her. "Young lady, do you have any idea how mach trouble it is to clean up all your little messes? Look at all these instances!"

Velvet looked over the list fondly. "Oh, that was a great one, I have to do that again."

"That's just this morning.  If you cause any more mayhem, you will be EXPELLED"

Velvet showed no reaction. "oh, no, what a tragedy or whatever"

The principal did not want to put up with any more of her sass, so he let her go for now. She went to put these papers in her locker, and was quite surprised to find her brother shoved in there. She removed the tape from his mouth and began untying him. "Veneer, what the actual heck happened?"

Between sobs and gasps for air, Veneer was able to say "polo", "boys' team", and "practice" Somehow, Velvet deciphered what he was trying to say and left as soon as she was done with the knots.  She calmly made her way to the pool and stood before the boys who had tied up her twin. soon enough, they noticed her. "move along, sassypants. team practice only"

"I'm here about the kid you tied up. only i get to do that kind of s***"

she held up plastic bags with something swimming in them.  one of the boys saw the movement. "please tell me those aren't piranhas"

"don't worry, not piranhas. just BARRACUDAS!"

she dropped the bags and turned around. the principal was already there. "young lady, that's it! you are expelled!"

Veneer ran up behind them. "wait! I told her where to find barracudas two months ago, so it's kind of my fault too."

"very well, neither of you will come back to this school ever again!"

moments later, the two of them were at the dinner table with their parents. their mother was not pleased. "kids, i love you both, but Vel, you need to stop with your constant antics! and Ven, you can't take the blame with her just because you feel bad for her."

"We know"

"so, normally, we would have two options. homeschool or public school. however, your father and I have such busy schedules that the only option is public school."

the two gasped in unison. "NOOOOOOOOO!"
