As we parked the car in the school's parking lot, I couldn't help but stare at our school in awe.
Skyfield High was a fairly large building decorated with bricks and a huge American flag flapping at the wind. Tall trees surrounded it like guards and the words 'strict' and 'bold' are what popped into my mind at the sight of it.
I looked around and took a look at the students. They were all very different, each one having their own style, and that made me wonder how hard it would be to make new friends; yet how easy it would be to fit in.
The first thing me and Sam did as soon as we stepped into the building was get our class schedules. We could have gotten them out online, but it slipped our minds.
I scrunched my noise as I read it. "Sam what do you have first?"
"Chemistry. You?"
I sighed. "Math." She laughed and started walking towards her class, but I had no idea where I had to go.
Lucky for her, Sam's chemistry class was right across the hall from the principal's office, so unlucky me was left to her own devices. The first bell rang and I started to panic. I figured it would be best to just grow a pair and ask the next student I see. Just then a really attractive guy just passed by my left.
"Excuse me?" I asked politely. Please be nice to me, please don't be a bully and shoo me off.
You're such a baby.
Shut up. Stupid subconscious.
"Oh uh, hey." He smiled and I really hope I didn't drool in front of his gorgeous, sculptured, face of heaven.
"Hi, I'm Kate and I have absolutely no idea where my math class is. Would you mind taking me there?" I fiddled with my fingers trying to keep my nerves - and hormones - calm.
"Well I figure you're a freshman so Ms.Linda teaches you and her class is across mine. I'll be more than happy to escort you there m'lady", he said with a silly dimpled grin. I sighed internally."And the name is Jack."
I took the chance of checking him out while he was leading the way and admired his features. Tall, lean, and built body. Definitely an athlete. Short brown hair and cute, light green eyes not to mention his white dimpled smile. He looked like a model to say the least.
"Well here ya go. Good luck." He smiled. Could he stop smiling at me? I need to breathe.
"Thanks, I'm gonna need it", I breathed out.
"Wanna meet up at lunch?" He smirked. Probably because he knew I wouldn't say no...
"Sure I'd love to." I smiled, trying to muster all my self-control to stop myself from jumping in my place.
"Great." He smiled his adorable dimpled smile -again- and headed towards his own class. I sighed and headed to mine.
I slowly turned the knob and entered my class and I could feel all 30 eyes turn to me.
*cue the crickets*
I took a look at our teacher who currently had her thin eyebrows raised. Ms.Linda looked like a 48-year-old single lady who lived with cats whose numbers depended on how many exboyfriends she had.
Suddenly the whole class erupted into laughter and Ms.Linda looked extremely angry. I mean I was only a few minutes late what's the big deal?
A student sitting in the back took a breath from laughing and said, "That's exactly who Ms.Linda is. A senior citizen who considers her cats her family members."
Ohhhh crap. I voiced my thoughts. Totally the smartest move ever.
"Yes, you did but next time you better keep your thoughts to yourself, is that clear?" She was furious and her whole face was red.
