PERCY

WE passed the volleyball pit. Several of the campers nudged each other. One pointed to the minotaur horn I was carrying. Another said, "That's him."

I hated attention, cause usually it's either I got into trouble and the teacher was calling out to me or I was caught in the middle of it and everyone stared at me as if identifying me as the one who caused it.

I felt a hand on my shoulder as I looked to my senior, there was just something different having the attention of Patroclus Yin. His presence offers comfort, this scent of grapes, chocolate and forest he has is calming.

"Give them some time, they'll stop the staring. It's not everyday we get new campers who single handedly defeated the Minotaur, you know?" The dark haired boy offered me a smiled,

Another fun fact of Patroclus, you can never accurately get his hair colour right, it shifts right in between dark brown and black. If you observe closely, his strands of hair just go from black and fade into a brown. It's all  so confusing but so mesmerising at the same time.

Most of the campers I saw were older than me. Their satyr friends were bigger than Grover, all of them trotting around in orange CAMPHALF-BLOOD T-shirts, with nothing else to cover their bare shaggy hindquarters. I wasn't normally shy, but the way they stared at me made me uncomfortable. I felt like they were expecting me to do a flip or something.

Or maybe it was just the fact Patroclus had his hand in mine. Now that I don't mind, because the warmth soft feeling of his hand around mine is the only thing bringing comfort.

"What's up there?" I asked Patroclus, referring to whatever moved the curtains.

He looked where I was pointing, and his smile faded. "Just the attic."

"Somebody lives there?"

"No," he said with finality. "Not a single living thing."

I got the feeling he was being truthful. But I was also sure something had moved that curtain.

"C'mon goldfish. There's a lot you've got to seen.", Patroclus said excitingly.

We walked through the strawberry fields, beside the patches of strawberries, was a grape vineyard, not as big as the strawberries but still enough to feed a whole class.

"These berries and grapes take no effort to grow, not only are they delicious! But we also export them to restaurants and Mount Olympus, and using the income to fund the camp." Patroclus explained,

"The grapes were a gift from my dad to me. More of a...uh..apology gift for leaving my Ba alone. Of course, he's not really allowed to touch the grapes since they could make wine...but I suppose there are some exceptions for me.? Geez...now I'm starting to feel spoiled.."

"Will Grover be alright?" I furrowed my eyebrows in worry.

"I..I can't guarantee he will be...the council are just three fat assholes. But they have a lot of authority over the children of Pan... I'm sure Grover will pull through. He's a strong guy by will and determination." Patroclus reassured me, I felt slightly at ease hearing his words.
