PATROCLUS
THIS time, I hugged Luke from the front. I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss him one bit. I missed his scarred face, his smoky scent. The pranks I'd pull with the Stroll brothers and him.
Our small detours and adventures around camp. Our regular fights just to show off our skills in front of other campers.
I hid my face in the crook of his neck as I felt his arms snake around my waist.
"This is comfy." I said, my voice slightly muffled.
"It is, but when will you let go?" Luke said, his chin rested on my head. A hint of amusement in his tone.
"Nah. You'll just have to hug me for the rest of our short lives."
"How was your school year?"
"Eh..the usual, listened in class, skipped lunch and sometimes dinner— ate snacks uncontrollably, than lost sleep during the finals and all." I pulled away from the hug to look up at him.
"Stop smiling like that, we both know that's terrible for your health. Your complexion has become more pale compared to the last time we saw each other." His eyes narrowed and his eyebrows furrowed.
Damn it, I should've known out of everyone else beside my ba. Luke was just as great as noticing things like these.
"Well I can't help it, I wouldn't have took naps in the afternoon if it weren't for the extra credit tutoring for juniors. And I finish any studies or homework throughout the night. It's just how I do it.. ow!" I yelped when Luke pinched my left cheek.
"I missed you. And your lifestyle is very concerning."
I felt my heart beat faster and the queasy feeling in my stomach. Fun fact, the feeling of excitement and nervousness is actually the same.
"Me too..." I stared into his blue eyes, I found them fascinating, when Luke spaces out, his eyes would be clouded over. Sometimes his eyes would look like they'd glow under the sunlight.
"So...."
"Uhm.."
Oh dear gods of Olympus did awkward silence take over...
"Since we didn't get to meet on your birthday, I got you something." Luke said taking out a pair of die. But not just any die.
"Holy shit. No way."
"Oh yes way." Luke smirked as I offered my palms up to receive the die.
It was limited edition Dionysus die for Mythomagic. The reason it was limited was because nobody really liked Dionysus's set in the game. The die were barely bought by anyone so they stopped its production. Hence 'Limited Edition'.
